So you have to take that ring off if you want to look at that? Make it make sense...
I wouldn’t want my ring finger being violated all day long

I know, right? That creepy little dude would be basically humping your finger all day.

This is my WHY and it isn't bc of the way it looks (in fact, I WANT it). It's the freaking price!!! I have been arguing with TRR over this item explaining that the center is not fancy - that it is a low color diamond of 80 points yet that they have it priced at 9K!!!! (Marked down from over 11K) First they told me it was fancy and I'm like, um, no - it has the description as being UV. Then they said the owner sets the price which is not what I have heard before about TRR. So it will sit unless someone is a total fool, or they need to reduce it. Like I wonder what the buyer originally paid????
Also, one day it was "Marked down" to almost 6k but that made it final sale; that lasted a couple of days then the price become 9K again.
I have been looking for a lower color that could pass as fancy and if this item were priced accordingly I would be all over it.
WHY WHY WHY WHY WHHHHHYYYYYYYY

Honestly, you can def recreate this for way cheaper. I can't imagine that a 0.8 low colour diamond will cost anything more than 1.5-2k MAX. The melee in there can't be more than 0.7ct worth, which even if the melee is pricey will cost you maybe $400? Round up to 2.5k for the diamonds. The setting can't have more than 6-7g of gold in there, so that's another $400 of gold. I have no idea what labour should cost, but I would assume not more than 1k (maybe 1.5k? That's absurdly high where I come from though but I don't really get the US market). In total this ring would come to $4.5k on the highest end.
Girrrrrrl, estimated retail 22,500??? On what earth are these people even living, cause it sure ain't ours!![]()
Yes I know lol and that is why I put it in the why thread. It is so ridiculous! And more so bc usually TRR is the place to find bargains. It is super annoying to me..
I have been looking for an old cut low color that could mimic fancy - it is tougher to find than I originally thought it would be. I have ordered a few and returned because they still managed to look ivory in certain lighting (usually a good thing when you want a whiter facing stone but not if you are looking for yellow).
I don't really know a lot of US vendors but I know DBL is recommended a lot in these parts for the low colour naturals! But old cuts are tough. I wonder if you'd need to work with instagram vendors?
I do think it's a little bit of the "nature of the beast" for old cuts facing up ivory occasionally. But it can be better or worse for sure. I have briefly owned 3 low colour old cuts and while one of them looked believably fancy most of the time, the other two were really annoyingly midway. But even the that looked fancy yellow most of the time would suddenly look white in some lighting. I just did my best to not look at it in that light![]()
