so my wife (of a few months!! :)) noticed that her memoire purity college eternity style engagement ring now looks more like an oval!! shes upset and we are both trying to figure out why this would happen! she doest wear it to the gym or when holding anything heavy and keeps very good care of it. i got her the matching wedding band and its still a perfect circle. we did have memoire change the size from 5.25 to 5 on the engagement ring but we were assured by pearlmans that it would still look perfect and have the same quality etc... im not sure if this is a reason why it looks like an oval now..

has this happened to anyone else? any insights? we''ll have to send it to pearlmans so they can send it off to memoire for repairs. she''ll without it for a few weeks and we''ll need to ship it which also is a bit scary...

thanks

If you shipped it, you will have to buy insurance for it anyway and if it is lost on the way that will be covered so don''t worry.

Usually shipping USPS Registered mail is slow but safe, although we have had one poor PSer have difficulties at the moment, this is usually the method of choice when shipping valuables. You get insurance up to 25k, here is some more info. Also maybe consider adding Restricted Delivery to the package to make sure only an authorized person can receive and sign for the package.

I just shipped the ring I designed to Florida where I will be proposing via USPS. The standard time for registered mail is 2-9 days (the desk told me 2-3) but when I called the 1-800 #, I was told they were incorrect. It is a little "weird" having no tracking info other than it was received by your post-office until it arrives at the destination sort facility, but USPS Registered mail is kept under lock and key every step of the way and everyone that touches it has to sign its manifest. The shipping + 13.5K of insurance between NY and FL was $32.50 ($30 for the insurance, $2.50 for the shipping).

Does she grip the steering wheel or a tennis raquet hard? Something like that can easily bend it...

im not so worried about shipping it... i did ship it once to pearlmans before via registered us mail but it took almost 2 weeks and you cant find out step by step details of where the package currently is.. ill just do usps express i think its either overnight or 2 days...

i really wanted to know about why the ring is more like an oval now... if anyone else has had this issue or if its uncommon.. not sure about how she grips the steering wheel.. ill ask.
