will 6 prong look better on this setting?

hi,
i love this the setting which is around 3-4mm wide in platinum.
in one of my last post a member suggested to ask if the vendor will change the 4 prong to 6 prong setting as i was concerned about the security. I checked and the vendor will do it without any extra cost. But my husband feels i do not need 6 prongs for around 0.80 carat stone and it might take away the beauty of the setting...so i am now confused.
Can u help me finalize 4 or 6 prongs because u all are experts in all this.... and i am scared to loose my stone. But the prongs look quite durable/strong.

I've had all my stones set in 4 prong - 1 ct, 1.7, and now 2.39 ct and have never had an issue. As you can see from my avatar, my current stone sits up high in a 4 prong - no problems. it doesn't catch, doesn't get lose, etc. I think you will find preferences range all over and you should go with what you like, but I would not worry at all about a 4 prong setting.

And I really like your setting choice - it's quite lovely!

I would leave it with 4. I don''t think you''ll have any security issue with the 4 prong and IMO it looks better in that setting with a 4 prong...

I think either one would look nice with that setting, although 6 prongs may be a little ''busier''.

Great choice, go with the 4-prongs! Its so pretty the setting..and I do think it would look busy if it had 6.

yep - that size, 4 prongs no question unless you''re concerned about it taking on a ''squarish'' appearance

It''s a beautiful setting. I''d leave it with 4 prongs too, although either would work.
