Re: Will I notice a difference between 3.5 & 4 pointers melé
Perhaps if you squint and have them side by side. A 3 point diamond is 2.1mm in size and a 4 point diamond is 2.2mm is size. Your eye will only be able to notice that difference if you are ver eagle eyed, and on its own in a ring without a comparison I doubt you would see it.
Re: Will I notice a difference between 3.5 & 4 pointers melé
oh yeah, you're right. well, i suppose 3.5 versus 4 of anything will be the same ratio. when you're scattering a bunch of melee across a band, prongs, etc. and if the work is very detailed and intricate, the difference is important particulary in terms of how many you would need to fill a space. but then again, 3.5 & 4 pointers are actually kinda big for melee.
Re: Will I notice a difference between 3.5 & 4 pointers melé
Although it sounds logical, that the same ratios of weight and spread would apply, it does not work with diamonds.
A 1.00 well cut stone is 6.5mm ( for example) a well cut two is 8mm
The difference in a two bands, one with diamonds of .035ct each, the other having .04ct diamonds will be very small. You'd need to put them next to each other to see the difference- even things like the thickness of the edge of the ring might make a lot more difference.
Yes, .035- .04ct is generally way larger than micro set type designs.
