In my search for my diamond I''ve been looking for stones with crown angles around 34.7-34.9. I wanted a stone with lots of fire and through research I learned higher crowns allow for more color dispersions. Now I''ve found a stone that has a lower crown angle of 34.4, but all the other numbers look good to me.

Please tell me what you think! I''m second guessing myself!

Depth: 60.9
Table: 55.4
Crown angle: 34.4
Pavilion angle: 40.8

It''s an AGS 000
HCA score is 1.1 at TIC level

I just want a breathtaking diamond with lots of fire and brilliance

I haven''t seen it yet, I want to get opinions before I call it in to be viewed. Thank you!!!

Does anyone have a comment?

Well I already called in the stone. So I''ll see pictures tomorrow!

Guess that is right, but... there is more to the story, and I doubt that either 35-ish crown angles alone guarantee a fiery diamond, or that 34.4 is too little for that.

I am sure you know the stats ''sound good''. No reason not to take a look, of course.

And there is such thing as ''Fiery Ideal Cuts'' in Garry''s terms. Not sure though if the subtle difference between what a ideal cut within that range and the middle ground your find belongs to is worth allot of hunting.

There has been quite a bit of talk about these FIC diamonds around here. There should be a handful of threads about them, but only one or two accounts comparing with ''average'' ideals. As much as I remember, the tutorial at Good Old Gold picks up the issue as well.

You will havce a difficult time finding a better looking diamond if the numbers and HCA results are to be trusted. The numbers are critical and the HCA result depends on them. No one will speculate about personal preference, but it ought to be a great stone.

Thank you for your comments Ana and David

With those angles its mostly dependant on the lgf% how it returns light. 75% lgf large chunky fire, 80% lgf will be more towards the bright side.

I can''t wait!

the numbers look great to me sunkist!! let us know how it looks in the pictures!

I LOVE the numbers! I bet it is a KILLER stone. Can''t wait to see pictures!

Thanks for sharing in my aniticipation Mara and Lynn! I can''t wait to see how it looks, well actually hear how it looks

It''s coming into WF, but I trust them to tell me if it is beautiful or not

Then maybe I''ll get to see for myself!

I hope you love it Miss Sunkist!!!

Thanks Matadora

I hope I love it and I hope my BF loves it too! I''ve been searching and shopping around for a while and the last stone I fell in love with at WF was sold recently. I even searched PS to see if someone here got it, but no one did. So I guess I''ll never get to see real life pics of it
7.gif
But as my BF said, that just means it wasn''t meant for me! Then I found this stone and even though it was not in-house at WF, the specs look better than the 1st diamond. This time I''m keeping my fingers crossed that all turns out well
2.gif

Those are very similar to my diamonds specs
And mine is a beauty! Really beautiful in 'almost' all lighting conditions - sometimes more brilliant, sometimes more on the firey side - most of the time a great mix.
If WF (or GOG) gives it a thumbs up go for it!

Scintillating...

Alright Strm, I''m understanding the lower girdle facet% now. I think the other night I was too tired to understand it
19.gif
! But how do you know what a stone''s lgf% is? Isn''t this another evaluation done on a diamond that isn''t normally supplied through PS vendors (or anyone else, for that matter)?

if the lgf''s aren''t measured directly, you can guesstimate what they are just by looking at the idealscope image. of course, if the stone comes with a new gia report, they are listed there.

ohh yes, the idealscope! That''s a great idea. Thanks Belle

My diamond''s numbers'' are suprisingly close.

AGS 000
HCA 1.1 TIC

Depth: 61.5
Table: 55.2
Crown A: 34.4
Pav A: 40.8

Alot in common, huh?

I checked the lfg and it''s 78%.

Trust me, you''ll love that diamond. Pics please!

I''ll post pics as soon as I get them, I promise! I''m waiting for them in email from Whiteflash. I''m so anxious!

It''s too late for WF to still be at work, I''m sure... Hopefully tomorrow. I''ve been checking my email every 15 minutes! It''s driving me crazy
