Ever since getting my light yellow OMC I've thought about having a light yellow OMC 5 stone ring. However, finding light yellow OMCs in specific sizes has been a bit more tricky than I originally thought. Now I'm considering a 3 stone.

I currently have a loose light yellow OMC which is about 6mm. The ring on the left holds a light yellow OMC of about 4.1mm (per the description) and the ring on the right holds a light yellow OEC of 4.1mm (per the description). The color match up is pretty good. The size match up is harder to judge while they're mounted but the OMC looks a bit bigger than the OEC but not horribly so. The OEC definitely has a lower crown and the faceting pattern is different but it's not as noticeable in person.

And a (blurry) profile picture.

Very interesting project. It must have been very difficult to find those stones.

Agree. The stones look beautiful.

Are you set on a ring? How about a necklace with them set top to bottom then they wouldn't need to match so much.

Either way I'm looking forward to seeing what you have made up.

:appl:

With all 3 lined up next to each other in a ring, my concern is that the size difference will be quite apparent.

crasru & pregcurious: Thanks! I'm kind of hoping I can find a pair of 2.5mm yellow OMC stones to make a 5 stone ring. There's a 2.9mm one for sale but no mate for it.

chel180: Yes, I'm pretty set on wanting a ring.

Chrono: I think the two 4mm-ish stone being separated by a larger center stone would make it more difficult to spot small size differences.

I think it's awesome you were able to find so many awesome antique stones! I am sooo jelly. Can't wait to see how you decide to set them.

The photos are difficult because the settings are deceptive however, I do think it'll work. If you flank the 6mm with the two 4.1mm on either side I believe it will look gorgeous.

You can measure the 4.1 on the left quite accurately but the one on the right is more problematic. I'd be tempted to unmount that one and then have a look again.

They look great!
