WIP-yellow diamond 5 stone

Wow. That looks great!

You ended up going with green gold, eh?

Wow!! Gorgeous!!!

The 2nd picture looks like it's been taken at an angle, but the right prong for the center stone looks thicker than the left prong. In general, I think that it's very difficult go get things perfectly symmetrical and uniform with hard-carved wax. With the Victorian-look you're going for, I think it's good to have small imperfections.

Haha! Don't you just love how yellow and green look together?

Actually, I'm dithering between yellow and unplated white gold. Once I okay the wax they'll remove the stones and photograph them next to each so I'll be better able to make a decision.

Thanks! I really like how they ran with the inspiration pic I sent.

*nod* From what they say, a lot of fine tuning happens in the finishing process anyway.

It's going to be gorgeous!!

And now the final question, what kind of gold to use... I have a picture of one of my stones against 18k yellow gold and 18k unplated white gold. Originally I wanted yellow gold and then I thought that it may overpower the light yellow stones and that unplated white might be the way to go. Carolyn says that she didn't touch up these photos (I cropped and resized them) but that the yellow gold looks to be higher karat than in reality.

Love the new waxes! Can't wait to see the final result!

Personally, I don't love the color with the yellow gold. It seems to really wash out the stones. Does she have a piece of plated white gold that we can also compare?

This is going to be fabulous!!!

Waiting for final pics!

The very middle prong is bending to the right - you need to get that completely straight and centered I think. Although it's an organic ring, to give symmetry the centre shouldn't bend either way (just my opinion).

Also, you might like to check the very bottom holes on the shank at the right and left - they're quite different in size.

It will be very pretty and either yellow or green gold will be lovely. I am leaning towards yellow as this will bring the buttery yellow out of the stones.
