Would a 3 stone ring look crazy in the O-P range?

Adam at OWD sourced them for me. He found them for half of what other vendors quoted me.
oh that is awesome!!!! They look like a great match! thanks!

Definitely call or email him! He found them in about 2 hours after I emailed him and that was right int he middle of Hurricane Sandy. Other vendors never got back to me or wanted well over 1k for them- seriously .60ctw for 1k :o

yay, I called him because I did buy 2 OEC's that are in the .80 range but they aren't a match, one will work but I need the other to match. I will keep the 2nd one because it is a beautiful transitional for a pendant or something. sorry for the threadjack! It is just nice to talk to someone doing a 3 stone ring, thanks

No worries! And I know exactly how you feel. For some reason I find this project really intimidating with what direction I wanted to go with it. Typically I love Art Deco rings so I thought I would do something similar to TGal's or Yenny's 3 stone rings....but ultimately decided to go in a completely different direction because for that particular look I really wanted colored sidestones for it- not all diamonds. The entire process to figure that out was frustrating though. Plus I have lots of trouble picturing rings or creating them in my mind. I really need to see a finished project for me to know if I LOVE it or not. It has to make me sing....if you know what I mean.

I'm curious to know who you got quotes from. I pretty much went to everyone and they ranged all over the place. But then again I wasn't exactly sure at the time what I was looking for.

Feel free to ping me or shoot me an email if you wish to discuss. You can contact me off of LT or DB. I was able to have Yssie and Enreiche help me with alot of the thoughts I had going on about this ring. :appl: :appl:

Ha, I found you!! I saw your post on the thread about stacking multiple bands and decided to see if I could figure out where you were with your 3 stone project. I can't wait to see what you decided to do. I'm sure that it will be gorgeous! And, I think that a ring in the style of TGals and mine would be drop dead gorgeous with a diamond center and colored side stones!! Gosh girl....you have quite the collection!! Looking forward to photos of this ring as well as your new 5 carater!!

Well without giving too much away Yssie gave me her blessing to do a 3 stone version of her current ring. I'm not sure if it will translate well as obvisouly my stone is an older cut with a wonky shape. But I wanted something sleek and minimalist. Now I"m really starting to second guess my decision. I just can't seem to find a style I'm 100% with. I was really torn between 2 very different looks and just couldn't make up my mind. Perhaps if I had both in front of me and could look at them as well as try them on it would be easier. In the end I justified I would do the 3 stone diamond now and later on in life do a 3 stone with colored side stones for another day. I will see what happens.

Below is my inspiration for the CS sides.

You definitely can't go wrong with a ring similar to Yssie's beauty! That 3 stone with the ruby sides is TDF!! Can't wait to see that one come to life too! Can I come play in your jewelry box??

This will be many many many many years down the road. To get the look that I loved with the ruby ring with my 2ct center I would have had to do 1.5ct rubies x 2 and that is more then I wanted to spend at the moment on a three stone. But I still do love this ring. The plan is to really see what I end up doing with my diamond 3 stone and my OMC that are both due in January. Pending on how often I wear them and what I do for my engagment ring ---then that will either red or green light the ruby 3 stone ring. Regardless it will be way way way wayyyyyyyy down the road. DH has kindly reminded me that I'm out of bling budget till 2017!

But yes you can come and play anytime. I'm actually not **that far** from you Yenny!

thanks Skippy! Like I said I'm very nervous becasue Yssie's ring is a colorless modern RB. I'm just not sure it will translate well. SK and I discussed adding diamonds, miligraining or even some engraving but each was vetos as he thought it would be off with this specific design. I'm practically on pins and needles waiting to hear an update about how it is progressing.

oh keep us posted. I think it will be gorgeous, there are a few PS'ers that have used old stones in modern settings. I was just thinking (as I was change a diaper, lol) that BOSTONJeff, had an old cut in modern setting, let me see if I can find the thread. Or I think it was an old cut. brb.
