Would this setting overwhelm a .90 diamond

Hello,

I've been flip flopping between the Vatche U 113 and a Leon Mege 6 Tulip Prong w/ pave. I finally found an exact picture of what I would do if we went down the Leon route, and guess what the attached picture is actually of one that he did. Now my last worry is her center stone is 1.69, I'm wondering if all the pave would totally overwhelm a .9 or if anyone thinks this would be just spectacular. Would this be acceptable for every day wear, I'm pretty good with my jewelry always taking it off when I get home but I do tend to swing my arms when I walk lol. Hers is 1.6mm I'm going to ask for a 2mm. Anyone think its too blingy? I'm drawn to pave because I really dont care for stacking so I need something to hold its own you know and have a wedding band for travel and casual moments. Hope the blogger doesnt mind me posting her picture.

::drum roll:: please 6_prong_tulip_pave_leon_mege_0.jpg

The shank looks so delicate and I think would look beautiful with your stone. My eye gravitates to the proportions of the stone to the shank, and then to the melee. That melee would look great with your stone, and the shank as is would look fine. I don't know what an increase from 1.6 to 2 would do, but I'm sure that would look too!

Thank you for the quick response. I for sure will leave the proportions to Leon because well hes the designer  I was thinking the 2mm because I dont want the overall emphasis to be "look how fragile that is" but if my stone is .9 would that look weird? Is 2mm common? How risky is this, if you dont like it then too bad, talk about stressful!

The setting you posted a picture of is gorgeous! :cheeky: I would tend to gravitate towards keeping the 1.6mm to give your stone more presence. My shank is 2mm wide with a 1.23 oval and I wouldn't mind of the shank was tinner! :wink2:

Isnt it just gorgeous? I would die if I could find glamour shots of it :Up_to_something:

To blingy??? You're asking the wrong people :D ! I think it would be gorgeous with a .9 stone. I would also not
go smaller than 2 mm for durability reasons.

spectacular! and 2mm is still pretty thin :wavey:

no... i actually think the 1.69 overwhelms the setting.

Thanks everyone, I actually had a quote on something like this for 8-8.5k with a .9 Gia xxx F VS2. If anyone is wondering.

so pretty!

I think you have to be willing to deal with occasional lost pave and having to send your ring back and forth to Leon. That is why I wouldn't do it personally.

But it is pretty!

I don't know how common of a problem that is, I've been wearing my 3 sided pave bad which is teensy weensy, and so far so good.

so pretty, I love the look of the 1.6 mm shank

I've done some more looking on PS. Turns out this is the ring member Silverbuggy was attempting to create. She couldnt decide between Maytal (s/p?) and leon. Then she sent him a detailed request and some were afraid she scared him off lol. Great to see it worked out for her as she never posted final pics! :D

I think it would look good with a smaller stone, but I am unsure about 6 prongs with a 6.3mm stone :read: I also personally would not want a pave band so thin. So much maintenance! But that's me, I don't like to baby my ring too much.

The diamond is so stunning! Have to say that it is the first time that see such a big diamond within a ring! :)
