Would this yellow MRB look ok with my ACA?

I stumbled across this 1.8 ct yellow MRB and was thinking it could be the 2nd stone in a toi et moi reset with my ACA. This is all the info I have on it sadly. But it’s under $6700 and scrap gold for the setting is around $600 (I know I’ll get less).

Thoughts?

I was worried that a super ideal next to a not super ideal in a ring with only 2 diamonds might look a little off.

Also can anyone confirm that this wouldn’t be an alphabet yellow?
 
I'd have to see it in motion, but if it's closer to an early 60/60 they tend to hold their own, it's just more of a bright flashy splinter stone as opposed to winky sparkle city. Yes, those are my terms and I'm sticking to them:lol:
It could look really cool.

I can't tell how just how much body color it will show next to a colorless. Are you looking for high contrast?

I want it to look intentional. Not like I randomly got 2 diamonds. My ACA is a K.

I can't guarantee, but I think it will. It has more body color than a K, for certain. I really want to see how they play together. Is there a return option, in case?
 
I think tje color will be obviously different. My main question would be whether the cut difference will bother you. The color contrast will be cool, IMHO

There is! It’s TRR so not the best return policy but hopefully everything ships on time. I just ordered it. It says 4-6 business days but shipping tends to be a little slower out my way.

I’m toying with the idea of making them 2 rings that can be worn together to look like a toi et moi but to also provide additional flexibility. I’m trying to figure out how that could work though.
 
Here is the toi et moi inspo board so far….if anyone has any ideas, I’m all ears.

Love the first two but your stones are round, different design challenge.
Do you like an antique aesthetic or are you thoroughly modern?

I haven’t decided yet. There was one I really liked that I saw a bit back but now I can’t find photos. I also toyed with the idea of remaking my old toi et moi but in 2 tone but I can’t find photos of that one either…
 
Haven't read every post (sorry) but I do think that putting the yellow one in YG basket and prongs and your ACA in white will accentuate the difference in color. I did this with one of my my rings and it helped to show the difference stand out. As for the cut difference, I can't speak to that from personal experience but perhaps the color difference will masquerade that.

Thank you all for the pics! I agree 2 tone would be the way to go.

@tyty333 the B&W one you posted is my all time fave toi et moi. I modeled my old one after it (with permission and modifications).

The ring shipped out today and is supposed to be delivered on Friday. TBD because shipping tends to take longer than estimated. I also won’t be home so I’ve gotta see if I can have it held at a UPS store.
 
@winnietucker I’m excited for you to receive this stone and post some pics :) You’ll have to tell us what color fluoro it has!
 
@stepcutnut Will do! Hopefully I get it soon. ETA has already changed twice since it shipped out so now I’m hoping to get it by Monday.

Well, I definitely see her color, but probably not as much as you had hoped for. Are you keeping her? If so, do you think putting her in a yellow bezel with a bit of a cup underneath (not a fully closed one) with your ACA in white, would bring out the color more for a toi et moi? What color do you think she is?

I am not. I was hoping for a little more of a dramatic color difference and since shipping to/ from where I live takes forever, I basically need to get this down to USPS today to make sure it arrives back to TRR on time. Since I don’t have time to mull on it/ try to figure out how to make it work, it’s going to go back.

As a heads up to others - TRR doesn’t provide a shipping label and USPS only insures up to $5k unless you go registered. I thought it was $10k. No guarantee it was arriving on time via registered so hopefully this doesn’t get lost in the mail.

Edit - I should clarify, they didn’t send me a shipping label. Could be my location.
 
That's a bummer, it's a surprise that it faces up so 'white'.:((
But, the yellow beauty is out there!

Rounds usually don’t hold their color as well as other cuts, that along with the strong flour have to be part of the reason it faces up so white. Better luck next time!
