So, my dress came in today! It''s unbelievably beautiful. The beading with the purple and blue is like nothing I''ve ever seen. It''s killing me that I can''t try it on! The only other person home is my man!

Can someone tell me how to do that? I''m really stupid when it comes to things like that. I had saved a picture on my desk top but when I tried to attach the file it said it was too big?

You''re not too stupid... you just have to resize them, if you can. Also give them a really unique name, PS won''t let you put a picture up with the same name as someone else''s picture... so My Dress probably won''t work, but Mydress342 might...

This is a picture of the dress (although it doesn''t do it justice at all, and it doesn''t show the back which is magnificent) there is actually ice blue embroidery on the bodice, but you can''t really tell. When I figure out out to download pictures I''ll post a close up of the detailing.

i did actually, my guy had to step out for a bit to get a haircut. It fits perfectly! I couldn''t lace it properly by myself but I can tell it won''t need to be altered. Can''t wait until I can show my girlfriend so she can help me! Then I''ll have pics.

Wow, that''s great news, and a beautiful dress, Sadie! I''m thrilled that you love the dress & that it fits well. The same thing happened to me when my dress arrived (couldn''t really try it on b/c my FI was in the house & I couldn''t lace it up by myself) & the wait drove me crazy! Have your girlfriend over & try it on & snap some pics (and post them on PS, please!) ASAP, girl!

Sadie, congrats on the dress!!! How lucky to find your dream dress for a reasonable cost and purchase it from somebody pleasant online. I think you made a great decision!!

As for dresses just sitting around in the box, our cousin recently adopted a baby girl, and had her wedding dress cut and sewn into a gorgeous christening gown. It was such a lovely, sentimental idea for re-using the wedding dress, and the christening gown turned out just gorgeous. Just an idea for anyone out there with an old dress laying around!

Thanks for the suggestion ephemery1. I''m all for using the dress in some way that will serve a sentimental purpose for our kid (whenever it happens), but I dunno if I wanna cut up a Vera Wang. Selling it seems to be the only tolerable way to get value out of that dress. It''s just not as nice an idea as turning the old one into a new christening gown.
