Hello, These are the earrings for my wedding, they are about the size of a nickle. I have recently seen some similar on ebay and online calling them moonstone, paste stone and Strass. So again I am lost, for I am confused again. Though I think was able to rule out the majorty of blue stones the jewlers in my area said they were. (Pardon my spelling) Not Aquamaeine, Topaz, Zircon, Saphirre, diamond, opal. They date back to the early 1920's set in silver, once were screwbacks, so maker mark is missing (my mother-in-law found them at an estate sale in Cali, and had the backs removed, gave them to her son, who gave them to me 7yrs ago)She always called them "Cold Stone" and the GIA papers were lost in the move back to Georgia. So, Have you seen any stone or moonstone that behaves like mine? If so, I need to find a stone and someone to make a setting so I can get wed in style! :) Thank you!
I hope my pictures can display the beauty of them, note they are a bit dirty.

My apologizes.

Fwiw, I have many faceted moonstone beads of fairly large size (briolettes) that are clear until the light hits them and they spark blue. It is quite possible that your stones are moonstones and certainly don't really resemble anything else, unless its some sort of glass.

DF,
You posted these last year asking the same question. Have you not ever had a gemmologist check them out (check RI, density, etc) as advised previously?

In that post you said they're from the 1920s and the stones are flawless. It's highly possible that they're paste. This was commonly used in jewellery at that time (set into gold and all sorts of other materials). As Chrono says, please take it to a jeweller and ask him/her to perform an RI test on them. I think the mount will permit this.
