The fluorescence is a plus but I'd have to see an SI2 myself to have any idea if it is acceptable. Did you ask if it was eyeclean from the sides or will it be in a halo? Many 2+ ct SI2 stones will not be eyeclean from what I have read here.

Ditto DS - you'll definitely want to have it shipped out to see in-person and judge if it's clean to your requirements before having it set. It's not clear if the rep whom you spoke to actually had the stone in-hand or was trying to judge by the report (which is impossible), and we don't know what metrics he/she was judging by - clean from 12" face-up? 6"? from the sides? Totally, completely clean or mostly clean?

Well, Bluenile is a drop shipper, so she definitely didn't have the diamond in front of her. She just goes by the cutter's description... nor do they provide idealscope images. The HCA for this stone is below 2 (I forget exactly what I got but it was good).

Blue Nile source some of their cut and polished diamonds from Israel where revenue from the industry generates about $1billion/yr in funding for the Israeli military which stands accused of war crimes and possible crimes against humanity by the UN HRC. Cut and polished blood diamonds are not regulated by the Kimberley Process which only regulates the trade in uncut, rough diamonds. This allows companies like Blue Nile to falsely claim their diamonds are conflict-free even though they generate revenue used to fund war crimes. You need to consider if you want to spend your money on a flashy trinket that may have funded the gross human rights violations.
