Would you please help me evaluate this oval?

The stone is not straight to camera, but it clearly will not have a bow tie.
I think you have done your due dillegence and should be happy with whichever you choose because you are now well :read: educated.

Go with your gut, especially when shopping for an oval. I spent many weeks hunting for mine.

I did a ton of research here on PS, and it was very helpful. I was very torn between finding a stone that had good "stats" (depth, table, polish, symmetry, etc.) and one that just spoke to me in person. I thought hard about buying online, because the stones were clearly cheaper, but I really wanted to make sure the one I bought didn't have a bowtie. I settled on a finding my stone in person at a B&M store in the area because i just had to feast my eyes on it before buying.

I narrowed my search down to two stores and had them order in some ovals stones. I looked at about 8 total, ranging from 1-1.5 cts. When I saw it, I knew. There was a particular stone that just took my breath away. No bowtie. Ton of sparkle. Gorgeous. I left the store feeling very excited. I took down the stats, and looked to the internet to see how it matched up to an "ideal" oval (if there even is one). I was crushed when I saw how much one of my "stats" (depth) fell out of the "ideal" range. I called the B&M store the next day and asked them to order more. They offered to order a few more in, but none of the ones they could order in compared to the original one in carat size.

Then I thought long and hard. I finally decided to look at the stone again that took my breath away. Indeed, it was gorgeous, and in all lighting conditions. Tons of fire and ice, no bowtie. At that point, I decided to just go ahead and go with it, because it was the stone that really spoke to me. I just didn't care about "the stats" anymore.

Boy, am I glad I went with it!! I got my ring yesterday, and it is phenomenal. I have gotten so many compliments on it, and NO ONE asks about the table or depth percentages!

So that's my story. Best of luck on your hunt. When you see it, you will know it!! I think the one you posted looks gorgeous.

Thank You so much for the vote of confidence, Garry! You are correct in that I have gained a wealth of knowledge here at pricescope! I really admire and appreciate your's and everyone's dedication to this forum!

Renni, Thank you so much for taking the time in your response! Thank you for getting it :-) I am/was really concerned about all the other areas, but in the end, you are right. Get the stone that speaks to you. Now I gotta find 2 matching ovals for side stones...working on a contemporary/modern 3-stone project. I will be sure to post as it comes along....Thank You Again!
