Just got my first colored stone purchases and I'm having fun with my new camera!

Looking for ideas on how to set these two and somehow when I photograph them, I really like these two colors together, although I didn't expect that I would. Now I'm thinking of how I can set them together - maybe with a smaller colorless stone on top and make it a pendant?

Help me out Pricescopers! What would you do? Would you set them in a piece of jewelry together and if so, how? And if not, any better suggestions?

It could just be the photo, but I feel like the peridot takes away from the sapphire. It's a little bigger and bolder. What about two matching pendants? You could do one on a 16 inch chain and one on an 18 inch chain and they could be worn layered or seperate depending how you feel that day? Others may have different ideas. Nice stones.

Love Them!!! :appl:

Rose gold! Complete contrast to make them pop even more.

I do like innerkitten's suggestion with each as a sliding bezel on two different length chains and then being able to wear them apart or together.

So pretty, especially the green one!

I thought the sapphire was going into a ring? If they are the same size, they can paired together to show contrast but the peridot overpowers the sapphire.

It's a negative for me, as I tend to prefer more traditional/conservative color combinations. Pretty stones though!

I would not put those two colors together.

I love blue and green together in clothing and wouldn't hesitate to try them in a ring. Having said that, I'm not fond of peridot green. I'd prefer emerald or tsavorite colours.

Unless you are gifted with long slender fingers (which I'm not), stackables send the message to me that you want to wear your entire ring collection on one finger.

I also like innerkitten's idea.

I like the idea and have seen amethyst and citrine that I also thought was attractive, but in this case I do think the peridot overpowers the sapphire a wee bit. How bout some stackables so that you can wear them together or not?

Great idea. I also like the idea for the 2 pendents.

If you're having doubts now about setting them together, I would listen to those doubts.

This.

I have a peridot asscher set on the corner on a 16 inch chain, and I mix it with my dark dark gray cushion spinel for a different look or with some of my other colored stone necklaces.

But I really like the sapphire with the bullets or baguettes as a ring!

Can you take the photo without a flash? I'm not sure we can see the colours accurately.

In principle if they're the same size then go for it. I love them both. I suspect it'll be a very big ring. Having said that, either would make a great centre piece for a ring.

Wow that is a blinding neon Peridot...I love it! :sun:

as stackers, yes.
perhaps a bypass and/or creative design based on bypass.
otherwise, no.

Hmmm, good feedback everybody.

@innerkitten - I do like the two separate pendants idea and it looks like a lot of other people do too. Thanks so much for that suggestion!

@Upgradable, thanks for the suggestion. I love rose gold.

@Lovinggems, Thanks! I really like them a lot too. As you can see I'm having fun playing with them.

@Chrono and @FrekeChild, yes, I'm still thinking about the ring. The peridot definitely is larger than the sapphire but not that much which makes it more challenging to pair them together in one piece of jewellery.

@jstarfireb, I hear ya, normally I'm a conservative girl myself when it comes to color combinations but for some reason these two colors in hand, they started to intrigue me. Thanks for checking in and posting your feedback.

@starzin, I love the example of the stackables you posted. Unfortunately the peridot is not THAT much larger than the sapphire to pull off such a bold statement.

@kenny, hi kenny the FCD meister, thanks for checking in. Yeah, I admit this color combo pushes the envelope a bit.

@isaku5, thanks for the reminder re: stackables and short fingers. Ouch, that would be a problem.

@NKOTB and @pregcurious, thanks for checking in and giving your feedback.

@LD, I pulled a non flash still frame from a movie I shot but I don't know if this helps. The stones aren't lined up and I still had to put the stones under two strong lamps to get enough illumination for the movie. It may not look too different from the first shot I posted. I think both photos depict the color accurately. The stones are NOT the same size which is why I'm re-thinking this.

@ChrisA222, thanks for checking in. I was pleasantly surprised by this peridot!

@MoZo, thanks for checking in. I hadn't thought about a bypass ring - probably because I'm a little nervous setting a soft peridot in a ring.

Right now, the idea of two separate pendants is sounding REALLY attractive but please keep the ideas coming.

Seeing the second photo makes them more compatible in colour without the peridot overpowering the sapphire. I think the two pendants idea is a brilliant option for wearing them together or separately.

Ditto. Just make sure that the sapphire doesn't rub up against the softer peridot.

I'm weird... when i saw the second photo, I thought "Hey! That'd be an awesome pendant... in the shape of a cat face... a cat with heterochromia."

Oh Davi, that is adorable! I wouldn't wear it though. My niece would but she has to buy her own gems.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I think putting the peridot on the longer chain will do the trick.

OK it's settled! Two pendants it is! Now I'm excited.
