We just finished putting a desposit down on a BGD H&A stone.

Here are the specs:

1.215 ct
AGS Ideal
SI1 (eyeclean)
H
6.83 x 6.86 x 4.22
Light performance, Polish, Symmetry: Ideal
Table: 56%
Depth 61.7%
Crown angle: 34.7
Pavilion angle: 40.7
Girdle: thin to slightly thick
Culet: pointed
Flourescence: negligible

How''d we do? I think pretty good but if there''s anything that''s iffy, please let me know. ANYTHING at all. We are just holding it for now with our deposit and may have the chance to change it if we have a concern.

Thanks!

Yahoo!!!! Oh, its gonna go in BGD''s Grace setting

I''m pretty darn sure the stone will be gorgeous but just wondering if there is anything in the specs that should raise an eyebrow. I guess because we went a touch above our budget, I''m just looking for all the reassurance we can get.

I honestly believe you picked a beautiful stone from a company that knows what they are doing.

I''m also waiting in line for a stone from BGD set in novela setting. It''s only been 2 weeks, the wait is hard !

Looks good. Congrats. :)

SpareMyWallet: What do you mean by waiting for a stone? They don''t have anythin you fancy right now?

I can imagine how misinterpreting that could make your heart sink!

I purchased the stone and setting from them, but it won't be in my possession until the setting is complete which can take 4-6 weeks

SpareMyWallet: Ah, ok. I see :) (Don''t know why I STILL can''t quote ppl)

What stone did you get?

I believe the Novela is sone of their stock settings? Why does it take so long?

Well they still make it from scratch even thought the design in there. They also have to make the prongs according to the stone I bought. He said because they have a lot of orders it takes up to that time.

I bought the 1.53 G SI1 H&A from his inventory.

Puravida - Congrats!!

Gorgeous stone! Can''t wait to see the ring!!

Because it''s an SI1 stone, did you check with Brian to make sure the cloud isn''t impacting brilliance? It says on the cert, ''Clarity grade is based on cloud not shown'' which can sometimes pose a problem in SI stones. If Brian says it''s ok then it should be fine.

Good point Laila!!!! Thanks for pointing this out. I will ask about this and hopefully it''ll be okay.

I asked about the cloud and Lesley gave me this reponse:

"A cloud is a grouping of 2 or more pinpoints and will not affect the performance of the stone at all. The fact that AGS has not even marked it on the report indicates how minor it is. You have nothing to worry about."

Phew!
