And a very honorable mention to Mara, whose beautiful ring was the inspiration for mine!!!

Just some quick background... My boyfriend and I began looking at rings last March. Originally, I thought I wanted a princess cut three-stone ring. Then I saw the regent cut stones & it was love... thought I''d like to have it w/ sapphires or some sort of colored gemstone in a Vatche setting... But then I saw Mara''s ring... and decided that I would eventually prefer to have a regent as a pendent or an anniversary ring, but that for my engagement ring I''d really prefer something similar to Mara''s.

So, we finally felt that it was the right time & it was financially feasible. Initially, my boyfriend was skeptical of finding a diamond and ordering a custom setting via the internet & working with someone we''d never met. But I was able to eventually convince him that we could work with Whiteflash since they are about an 8 hour drive away (I think it comforts him that if necessary, it would be possible to drive somewhere within 12 hours, just in case he gets ripped off and needs to kick someone''s a$$

That''s a joke, kinda.).

I spoke to Lesley about the setting right before New Year''s. The following week I was able to talk to Brian about a couple of stones from their Expert Selection and he confirmed my initial preference for one of the stones & was so great about making sure that his reasons for suggesting that particular stone meshed with my priorities. So I talked to my boyfriend later that evening & got the "go ahead" to place the order. Lesley was terrific in explaining the process and verifying that we were both speaking the same language as far as the setting details were concerned. A week later, here it is!!

I will post the specs for the stone and then images & photos... But, first I''d just like to thank everyone here because, although I don''t think I ever posted any questions in order to select this stone, all of the posts and people here helped me find this beautiful, vibrant, sparkly, firey stone!!

And here are the specs on the center stone:

Gorgeous ring, Teebee!! I LOOOOOVE the thin band look. And that last shot is great -- look at those arrows go! Definitely $350 well spent on your camera.

Thanks ~ I love it!! I was excited to be able to capture the arrows image, but I really wish I could capture the sparkly!!!

teebee, congrats! your ring is just stunning

Sorry to veer off topic but Kim I love your Happy Bunny avatar holding the diamond! I noticed him before but I think you added the diamond recently? He just cracks me up!

Sooooooo beautiful teebee!!! I got my fire pictures by holding the ring in direct sunlight (taking pics with my back to the sun). Good luck, and have fun playing!!! And don''t let your FIANCE (!!!!!!!!!!) tell you you''re crazy for taking so many pictures of a rock!

KBerly - by the way, I love your avatar!! Is that an Asscher the bunny is holding?

Incredibly beautiful! And the camera will be worth it not jsut for ring shotrs, but all of the other upcomign photo ops you will have....parties galore preparign for getting married!

JCJD ~ Thanks, I am going to try that if the sun ever comes out again!!

Teebee, I said it on the FLIW thread, but WOW!!!!!!!!

It is so beautiful, and I love the story of the progression in your choice....it is a very special ring, and you must be semi-blinded by that fire!!

Wow, teebee, it''s gorgeous! And boy, you got some amazing pictures of it.

I think you were wise to not make it a full eternity style even though I love them. Now you have room to have it sized later if you need to do so.

I enjoyed reading on the LIW thread about how your fiance proposed. "This came today. Want to wear it?" LOLOL! It sounds like my engagement but a bit more wordy. I think mine consisted of, "Here."

Wow- that''s a beauty.

Wow--this is a beautiful ring...it came out just perfectly.Looks great on you, too.

Congrats!

Thanks, Patty, I really love the eternity look, but I wanted to be able to size it and we had a pretty strict budget in mind so it just didn''t make sense to pay for what most people wouldn''t see. I was showing it off to a friend of mine yesterday and one of her coworkers thought it was an eternity so I accomplished exactly what I had hoped to.

The best part of the "proposal" was that I was the one that picked the box up from FedEx... so, you know, him saying that "this came today" was just too funny.

Thanks all!!! I really do love it & am still caught off guard at times at how bright and sparkly it is... occasionally I get distracted from what I''m doing... I was in Office Depot earlier and their lighting was great, so I guess I just stopped, mezmorized, and played for a minute, or so, not sure how long, but I finally got myself together and got back to the task at hand.

PQ ~ I''m not sure, I''m going to say .02 melee??? I think the width is right around 2.3mm but I didn''t ask what size melee they were using, just told them I''d like it as thin as possible and Brian said he didn''t feel comfortable going below 2.3mm, felt that it could compromise the structrual integrity (and I''m kinda klutzy so I didn''t want it way way thin, but I think it''s a perfect width for me and my short stubby fingers).

oh my gosh - It is BEAUTIFUL!!! I love your taste!

teebee, just wanted to say i just got done reading and catching up in the LIW thread. i think your "proposal" was perfect
emlove.gif
i had a vision of what my proposal will be like..."here honey, this came today, wanna wear it?"

too funny, but still perfect

Congrats...Beautiful ring...good choice...althought the Regent w/ sapphires wouldn''y have been a bad choice either

Diane!!! Sorry, I haven't seen you post in a while, but your ring is bookmarked on my Favorites!!! I still love love love it so much, it really was a tough choice!!! I'm hoping it won't be too long before I need, um, deserve another special treat!!!

Congratulations teebee, the ring looks wonderful!! I just got back into town from a biz trip, wanted to see what had transpired on Pscope in the last week, clicked on this thread and saw this....what yummy eye candy to come home to! The ring looks exceptional, of course I am partial to that look
9.gif
, but they really did a great job! The 2.3mm means that they are probably .02c melee, since that is what my wedding ring width is with .02 ACA melee as well. I love the thin band, my stone is 1.29 and width of ring is 2.8mm and it looks probably about the same ratio as yours, band to stone, so your stone probably looks bigger due to the thin band. Yum! Oh and the stone looks stunning as well, those arrows are blinding!

Great taste!

Thanks Mara!! Yep, I''m sure you''re right ~ I figured they were .02c melee because I said I wanted my e-ring band to be about the width of your w-ring & I thought I remembered from one of your threads that it was 2.3mm and then Brian said that that was really as thin as they would want to make it. I think it is a nice ratio for a 1 carat stone.... of course, a future upgrade is a given...
2.gif
I''m so happy with the stone, like yours, I absolutely cannot tell that its not a perfect ACA H&A!!
