Looks just like a Leon. Is there a reason you didn't just order one from him and have perfect claws?

Looking forward to seeing it

Leon's not warm and fuzzy enough for me.

Plus I like things like CADs 'n' waxes 'n' stuff.
And I have EVERY confidence that BGD can make KILLER claw prongs.

That's not even a blip on my worry radar.

I love solitaires
30.gif
- my original ering setting was a split shank which I changed to a solitaire and I LOVE it - I would never go back to my old setting.

Do you have a 'before' picture?
Do I have a "before" picture?! Does a duck have little webbed feet?!!

it looks terrific lynn. you can never go wrong with a big ol'' stone in a gorgeous solitaire!! can''t wait to see it when it''s all done!!!

Hi Lynn!
Are you changing your lovely setting!?! to a solitaire? I''m so torn between an eternity shared prong and plain solitaire! Can''t wait to hear what made you change it.

I really liked the bezel idea - but this one is so close to what you already have (and I like the one you have better than this one to be honest) so I''m not sure why you are changing? Just to get rid of the melee on the band?

Yep! To a solitaire. And VERY excited about it, too!
I mentioned it in my recent reply on your other thread!

I love the CADs Lynn! I can''t wait to see the finished ring. I''d love to come up with a project for Brian to work on...someday!

I am changing because the pave stones made cleaning the ring in the ultrasonic a "no go". I lost a pave stone once and although WF was wonderful about fixing it, it was a pain and a hassle and obviously, time without my ring.

My diamond (like all diamonds) is a grime and grease magnet. It kept developing a film on the paviilion that I simply could NOT remove. (Rich can vouch for this!) It affected the stone's performance and THAT drove me nuts. I had this killer diamond that was never really completely clean, and just wasn't sparkling like I knew it COULD.

I work in a hospital and wash my hands 1,000 times a day and maybe it was that handwashing soap that was the culprit, I don't know. But with the new setting I can ultrasonic it every day if I want to. (And I just might!)

I ADORE the fishtail pave setting. I always have and I always will. But I'm ready for something new... and personally, I think the new ring will be GORGEOUS and I am really looking forward to having my diamond be the STAR in a timeless, classic, delicate and fluid solitaire setting.

Absoultely stunning. Perfect. I understand what you mean about setting it lower so the point is closer to the donut. My first go around, mine was set really high but I liked it because, quite frankly, it looked bigger. I know that there are different opinions about that, but in the end, I looked down at my finger and loved it!

Lynn, I love the design it will be stunning. The only thing I would change, since you asked [=), is to add a little swoop in the gallery a la the legato and new BGD truth heads. I just think that is such an elegant touch to the head and it shouldn''t affect cleanabiltiy compared to the straight bar in the present design. Of course, if you purpusely are going for a simpler profile, by all means keep it as it is!

Thanks everyone! I appreciate every post!

DD, thanks for your opinion! And you know, I actually thought about this... I LOVE the swoop of the Legato head (mine was actually the *original*, it wasn''t even named yet when they made my ring!)... and the BGD "truth" insignia is very compelling too (I love how the "swoop" goes the opposite way)... I even slept on it a few nights... and in the end, I decided I just wanted that simple, delicate, straight bar! I just *LOVE* that look!
30.gif

BUT, I do hear what you are sayin''!

Lynn, I do understand and that''s a great idea - in face if I ever redo my ring I''m going to keep that in mind, if one of the stones in my current setting fell out, what a pain it would be to replace.

I agree that it will be classic and beautiful and I hope you enjoy it for many years :)

Well, is this offically "Phase 3"???! Or Just Phase 2, continued???! Oh well, *whatever*!!!

We have WAXES! Yay!
36.gif
Six images... coming up!

(Oh, BTW, Lesley pointed out that the stone is just placed in the wax to give the general idea... she realizes it isn't "straight"in the setting, but as we know, a wax model is delicate so they didn't want to mess with it too much.) So picture it with the diamond sitting level!

And... enjoy! (I know I am!!!
