I plan to bezel my RH rose quartz with 18K rose gold, and have the rest of the pendant made in 18K unplated white gold. One jeweler suggested that the pink stone would look better in 18K YG with 18K WG accents (while keeping rose gold for bezel), not mentioning that WG costs 40% more than YG (I am not sure why there is a big price difference).

I know for sure white gold looks better on me. I look dull when wearing warm-toned clothing, jewelry, etc. Shall I insist on using WG, even if the jeweler thinks it should be made in YG? I am concerned that might dampen the jeweler's creativity.

It's your ring, your decision. The point is that you have to create something you'll wear. You don't want to be 6 months down the line and realise you don't like wearing it because it's the wrong colour gold.

i'm worried that you'll end up paying for a piece that you won't wear because you're afraid of offending the person you've hired to do work for you........this person is supposed to be a professional. its your $ and you're the one to wear the piece. you know what looks good on you and what doesn't. have it made your way. if you really think this person will be so easily offended and will not perform well creating this piece, perhaps someone else should be doing the work.

Thank you for replying. I will stick to what will look good on me, i.e. white gold. =)
