Serg, FYI this thread is 2 years old.
I believe CCL is long gone and, in fact, banned.

Kenny,
2years ago we did not discuss this issue well. We discussed only about reason ( dispersion) yellow facets in ASET light.
There is other much more important reason of this phenomena .
It is pity if CCL had been banned.

I'm certainly not trying to stop a discussion.
Sorry if it sounded that way.

We have too few technical discussions these days.
By all means continue. :))

Serg, or anyone ... I DO have a question.

Am I correct in assuming that GOG's ASET image in the original post (with the yellow) is a software-generated ASET image, NOT from an ASET photograph taken in the real world.
No?

And would the same yellow be visible in a REAL pic taken in the REAL world of this diamond?
IOW, is the yellow the result of dispersion of light, or some artifact of the software?

Kenny,
Please check my post from 21st Jan.2011. Do you see yellow zones on real AGSLab photo in ASET light?

Haha... well ... better late than never eh?

To settle the question once and for all ...

1. Ken it is an actual image. Not computer generated.
2. The yellow you see is a saturation of the "O" color of that diamond. If you look at other ASET's of warm toned diamonds you'll also see it.

Below is an ASET of a 1.16ct N VS2 AVC which also shows it, albeit not as much as the O color.

woops... double post. :twirl:

Wow, thanks Rhino.

So, I was wrong when I wrote, 'the yellow seen in the original ASET pic had nothing to do with body color'.
So, that yellow diamond vendor wasn't so far off after all.

That's the first time I've ever been wrong. :o
