You'll never guess what I found riding my bike to work today......

Thought I’d update….
B-dog is adored. And he adores us.
Each member of our family has a strong connection with him.
He’s free to come out of his cage whenever he wants.
He’ll hang and watch a movie…. Snuggle under the blanket. It’s just too cute.
He’s still very resistant to perching on the finger- or letting us pet his head. Try and touch his head and you’ll get a nip. But if you pick him up like a taco- the way I first did, and he doesn’t bite your fingers.
He does love his head to be pet when he’s wrapped in a blanket.
I’m working on getting him to accept food other than seeds- and getting more finger comfortable

I've been wondering how he's doing! I hope he provided some distraction during this painful convelescence.

Hey Bird lovers.
So, we're a few months in......I said at the top, that the last thing I wanted right now was a pet....well, boy was I wrong!
This little guy has "infected" all of us so deeply.
We all adore the little !@@#$
I used !@#$ because he's such a lovable little a$$hole:)
I mean, he will sit on your shoulder for ...forever basically. The cost for this is that he's going to chew holes in your shirt ( and of course leave little "presents" )
He'll fly over to your shoulder, and when you try to pet him...he'll snap at you......
But get him in a blanket and he just calms down, and loves it when you pet his head........

Anyway, there's so much "less than great" news and $hit going on...I wanted to add a little positivity.
Lovebirds make the most incredible pets.
All the personality of a Macaw, but a fraction the poop:) ( and noise)

Are you going to get him a girlfriend? lol

My boys have both been asking to get a second bird....
NO NO NO!!
FIrst of all, it's possible the birds will hate each other. They're particular, and mate for life......so just putting another bird in the cage might start a war....
Another possiblity is that they love each other and afterward, want nothing to do with humans...
Then, there's twice the noise and mess....
He does love to start screaming at dawn. Thankfully, he doesn't have such large lungs:)

He sure is cute!

In addition to the loud volume, their pitch is incredibly high.

True that!
But again, the volume ain't all that bad.
And say you're in the living room, watching TV....the little guy will sit on your shoulder or cuddle in a blanket for hours. If you leave a bird in a cage, and they're looking for attention ( which is basically a lot of the time when they see you), forget about watching tv right next to them.
Years ago I had a Yellow Naped Amazon called Sampson. An avid talker. Or yeller. And when he decided to yell, look out. And even if bigger birds like to cuddle, the "presents" they leave are much much larger.
Lovebirds. 100% the personality and 10% of the poop:)
