What is your concern with SI2 stones in melee & Halo? I could ask for a different clarity perhaps, maybe I\SI1 or what are you suggesting? I'll look into it as I do need to submit a custom order to change metal to rose gold.

Yes, Rose gold is mandatory (by her) in this regard, and inside info has led me to halo + sidestones, which upped the price of the setting, which now sadly might effect my diamond budget. But I'll take the advice, and look for I colour for main.

I really don't think a J+flour is a problematic choice as the flour may help the stone look a bit whiter under certain conditions (bright light with UV). But, the real question raised from PS was is a J going to be too tinted for her (flour or no). You are still looking for a J which will have noticeable tint from the side.

If you have no sense of how color sensitive she is, I would recommend you stay at H or higher as most people start to see color in I or J. In a super-ideal, you can probably go to a I and maybe a J, but not in the average "ideal" cut.

If you no longer require florescence, then hang tight whilst folks look again. Can you confirm I've summarized your needs below correctly?

After my initial searches I think I need to stay in ideal cut, as opposed to super ideal cuts, with I colour \ VS2+ \ blue - med fluo\ 1.10-1.25 carat \ $6-$7K CAD. I don't want to sacrifice carat too to much because the rose gold metal, flower halo setting is big, so I don't want the rock to appear "small" {swallowed up}

1) The Zac Posen Halo you selected can only accommodate up to a 1.1 carat diamond. It looks like all BN settings are set with I SI diamond, not my favorite.

2) Can I suggest you chat with the JA Sales Rep. I just confirmed that they will bill in Canadian and they will collect the necessary taxes. I'm not in the US and don't know all the right questions to ask, but I like their settings better at this price-point and they use much better melee (I've seen many in person). If you look at this with a 1.0 carat it looks quite nice.

3) Diamond Options. Still need to request IS or ASET and have gemologist confirm no impact from flour (again, rare but always good to confirm).
