What a lucky find!! Ive been looking for months for mine. Its so hard to find one in my size! It looks beautiful on you. And, you can always say it was for v-day...being red and all...

Ok I need to vent so I can discharge this and forget about it!

My mind was on sugar loaf cabs lately so when I saw some pretty sugar loaf rings from a local jeweller on IG, I DMed to ask if they could source a custom cut sugar loaf for the same setting in the gemstone of my choice. First they asked, you mean like this ring? I answered yes, I’m interested in rubellite. Then they said they could get me a quote or I could source my own stone. So I asked for the dimensions of their setting.

Then I get this reply:

“Every setting is custom made in fine jewelry, we never use pre fabricated settings. If you happen to find your own gem, we will have our jeweler custom make your setting.”

Oh thanks for educating me, peasant consumer who knows nothing about fine jewelry. So you never keep your casts, I presume? And even if reusing a CAD means nothing to you, it saves ME the effort of paying you for one and trying to decipher it.

For real, it’s not like a cab is that hard to set. I will gladly take my business elsewhere.

After a year long self imposed jewelry ban, I just purchased two bracelets on eBay. A small (cheap) “starter” tennis bracelet and a toggle bracelet. I’m excited!

They are here! Toggle bracelet is going back, but I’m pretty sure the Diamond tennis bracelet is staying.

I just don’t love it like I should. And I thought they would look good stacked together too, but they are different lengths and the toggle ends up rolling over the tennis bracelet. Not as cohesive a look as I was hoping.
