I'm so elated! I just wanted to share. She is the new addition to my jewelry family. I have recently seriously downsized my collection. In doing so, I discovered what is important to me in an Ering. I love 18k yg, warm diamonds, and Ovals. Even though fancys are not ideal cuts I searched for an oval that was as close to it as I could get. I recently acquired and returned a marquise, though large and beautiful just wasn't me. My oval is perfect for me and I absolutely love it!

I am IN LOVE! I don't know what I was so worried about!

He proposed today and the ring is prettier than I could have ever imagined!!

This is just a quickie iPhone handshot - still need to find my real camera. To my untrained eye, I truly cannot spot any inclusions. When Lynda said they were white and hidden within the facets, she wasn't kidding. All I see is whiteness and sparkle, sparkle, sparkle! I think the dark spots in the photo are a reflection of my sweater. This baby is pure white!

It's a 1.21 (7.78 x 5.75) D SI3(!) from GOG.

Here it is - I had the Fed Ex box with me at work all day but did not peek. My hubby wanted to present it to me so I brought it home and he actually got down on one knee and put it on my finger. My 18 year old son was there and could not believe his father got down on one knee! Anyway here is my 2.61 ct pink sapphire surrounded by 8 10pt Whiteflash ACA rounds and two 15pt pears in white gold. will post better pics soon - this was a quick one snapped with my cell phone.

Hi,

This is my 1st time uploading a photo so we'll see how successful I am!

This is my oval. My husband and I bought it from Granat Brothers in San Francisco 32 years ago. I loved it then, I love it now, and I wore it very proudly for years. It was set in a yellow gold, cathedral setting, very simple. About 6 years ago I had it reset, using small diamonds that I had down the sides with the setting in palladium. I've never been quite happy with the reset, I think because it looks rather clunky to me. I've had it modified once. I also had a band made to go with it which I usually wear on my right hand.

All the beautiful ovals in this thread have made me think that maybe I should have it reset again in a more delicate setting...in the future when funds allow.

I would have never picked this out online, but I loved it from the second I put it on...even without the diamond! It's a Parade, two tone (white and rose gold) setting with a 2.something ct oval. It sits high enough that it will be flush with a band, and has lots of pretty deco details.
