Found a few more pics of the White shark that came up to say g'day on one of the guy's social media albums. I've tried to pick only shots where there are no faces with clear shots of the beast and these were the best I could find.
Enjoy! :wavey:

I love this thread. Great pics! December Fire thank you for starting it. I don't have real wildlife pics per se but hopefully I can join in the fun posting pics if you allow me some artistic license in doing so. The first number of pics are from our local aquarium and I am also posting some of our concrete jungle wildlife after that. Hope that is OK.

Next up some duckling pics. Sorry for so many. I love these little fellas. We saw them when they were just born and watched them grow into adult ducks. So adorable. I cannot find my gosling photos unfortunately because they were just as adorable but here are some of the ducklings we watched grow up.

Onto the "wilds" of the concrete jungle. Hope you allow me this artistic interpretation of wildlife.

Looking forward to seeing some more photos from everyone. :appl:

Here's a pic I found on my hard drive of a lovely Striped Marlin all lit up like a Xmas tree. I love the blue and purple colors that they emit from their fins and the stripes on their body. While they frustrate me at times they are still the most beautiful of all the Marlin species in my eyes. If only my arm and hand weren't in the shot, it would've been a great pic

Jordy, I think that still is a great pic even with your arm in it. And yes please I would love a sapphire the color of his fin.

Thanks Missy! I've re-discovered so many pics from my times on the water since I have gone through my collection over the last 24 hours for this thread. Unfortunately the 'Glamour shots' are all from up north and not where I am living now, Melbourne's waterways are a desolate wasteland in comparison. The closest I have had to brushes with marine apex predators is seeing a 12-14 foot long mark on my sonar and a seal which wouldn't leave us alone one day ;(

Jordy, that would be my ultimate dream, to be on a boat and see a GW..tho I'm afraid I would be curled up in the fetal positon and maybe pee my pants, to actually see in person one of my biggest fears.

It's a surreal experience to be that close to one of nature's most efficient killing machines packrat, one of the guys on the boat on the day of the pics was screaming like a school girl despite having seen sharks up to 1300lb landed. If I told you what the rest of us were doing you'd probably just roll your eyes and think 'Crazy freaking Aussies!!' :Up_to_something:

One more pic and that will do me for tonight.

Haha I feel for your friend! I think I would feel like I was dreaming or having an out of body experience. Someday..Acutally I think just being on your continent would make me feel like I was dreaming!

Deer in our front yard. They love to eat my roses and hibiscus.

We live in the San Francisco Bay Area but near open space.

We live on a Ridge top and are blessed with a 240 degree panoramic view which include sunsets like these:

These were all taken with my phone.

Cflutist, I genuinely envy those views!!

Another from the vault, about 5 years ago a Whale Shark popped up next to us as we started putting out our lures, an indicator that our decision to start fishing in that area was a good one. Very rare and special sighting, more special than a White Shark IMO

Just had to share this. My cousin (on right) is visiting her brother who lives in Zambia (on left). The cheetah seems to be the only one laughing at the punch line of a joke :D

_36364.jpg

Mata, is that at a wildlife reserve/rescue? What is the name, if you know. My girls would love to be able to pet such a beautiful animal.

Mata that Cheetah is a beautiful animal and the expression on it's face in the pic is absolutely priceless!! Love it!!

For all the dangerous animals we have in Australia, one thing I'm glad we don't have is giant cats. Crocs, snakes and spiders can't catch me on land but a giant cat would laugh at me trying to escape

Here's Mom, the teen-aged son, and their perch:

I call this one "Just a Taste"

And this one is called "Shelter." You have to look closely to see why.

Sorry lambskin, all I know is that the pic was taken in/near Livingstone Zambia.

I love that pic. Nice spot of red amidst the colors of winter.
