I am in the process of working on my upgrade for our 12 year anniversary... I have been between a Pear cut (Give me all of the Finger Coverage) and an Emerald Cut...I just keep going back to the Emerald's classic Elegance. I currently have an OMB 2.5 with a Halo from BE, and I am ready for something completely different this time around. This time I really just want either a Solitaire or 3 stone. I would love something in the the 4-5 carat Range. I just one BIG and simple, this will be my last upgrade and I want to make it count!

Would you all kindly share your Stones with me? Ideally with stats and your ring size. I am a size 4 just for comparison.

Thanks for sharing!

What an exciting project you’re working on, @TruLuv858 !!
This was my three-stone emerald cut that is now owned by the lovely and sweet @maryred - center stone is 3.54 ct with 1 ct each side. I’m a size 6. I don’t remember the exact measurements but hoping that @maryred would chime in with the mm info.

Good luck with your project and can’t wait to see end results BB5CBF5B-69A0-40BF-A13C-158B326BE793.jpeg

@TruLuv858 Scroll up to see @Taylorbug! ’s post. She linked it to the thread where it has the stats. I think it’s post #20 on that thread.

Will post 2 similar rings. First is my current and most likely last ring. Emerald cut with tappered baguettes. I do plan to have the setting remade with split prongs and in platinum. Details = 6.01ct, GIA K, VS1, and EX/EX. Measurements are 12.30x8.50x5.86 with a ratio of 1.45.

My prior ring was an emerald cut solitaire. I loved the look and adored the setting except for one huge issue. It was really hard to clean the culet of the diamond for that particular setting so the stone only looked clean for a short time post steam cleaning. So just a heads up that it is extremely important with an emerald cut that you can clean the bottom of the diamond or else the stone will look horribly dull. I would have reset the stone eventually. Ok so the details are 5.01ct GIA K, EX/EX, 11.78x8.25x5,41, ratio 1.43.

Good luck with your search! I am super excited for you!

@TruLuv858 thanks! Ring size is 6 to 6.25. I used Diamonds Direct for both of those stones (also my asscher bands, emerald cut hoops, and tennis bracelet). They have access to bring in a lot of stones to see side by side and only brought things in that fit my parameters. There also is a great trade in policy. For custom designs, they use a couple of external bench jewelers whose work is great (went through the CAD process and sent wax molds). However, Diamonds Direct is a brick and mortar store so prices quoted may run a little higher vs what you might see for an online vendor. I will say that I have negotiated the price of everything I purchased from them such that I felt I was getting a great price. They have a handful of stores scattered around. I have a feeling that the store and sale associate makes a big difference in the experience someone has with them. Also, I have a buying history with them so they have worked hard to keep me coming back. If you have access to a Diamonds Direct, it may be worth dropping by if for no other reason than to see a large selection so that you can see what you like in terms of color, ratio, and cut. Step cuts come in a lot of personalities. Highly recommend you call ahead to arrange an appointment if you go.

I’ve also used Diamonds Direct for my emerald cut diamond which I upgraded a couple of times to get to my 3 carat stone. Their trade in policy is awesome. They did bring in different stones for me to look at in my price range. I also found a stone online that they got in for me.
