Really excited for you @Matthews1127 I can’t wait to see the end result.

How my husband wishes I had your small hand problem

...and we have SKETCHES!!! EEEEEK!!! :lol-2: :lol-2: :lol-2:

Inspiration Photos for the design:

This photo is from Pinterest (to my knowledge, it does not belong to a PSer):

This is an existing PSer’s ring. I saved this image to show my jeweler the dbl claw prongs; I want very delicate claw prongs around my Asschers. These are very similar to what I want to achieve.:

My ring will be similar, to the top inspiration photo, but different, as I’m adding my own personal touches. There will be millgrain along the edges of the metal, everywhere possible...lol! There will be a base of the ring, instead of the basket design, with open u-prongs to allow maximum light exposure, and keep the integrity of the frame stable, and durable.
1-2pt, bead-set diamonds will be set at the base of each “U”, surrounded by millgrain. These 1-2 pointers will be set at an angle where they will be exposed, and be protected from wear against my other rings, when I stack it.
The Asschers will cover 3/4 of my finger. The rest of the open metal will be designed to match my wedding set & RHR: millgrain, scroll detail.
This band will not sit higher on my finger than my WR, which was a huge relief; I didn’t want it to sit too much higher off my finger. Slightly higher would have been OK, but he assured me he could keep it consistent.
The band will taper from diamonds to the back of my finger from 3mm-1.5mm.
It will be 14k-18k white gold. We have not set that in stone, yet. What I already have is 14k wg, so I believe I will keep that consistent, as well. We shall see what he suggests, and the price difference.
This will be a lengthy process: CAD’s will be sent to me for approval, during this process, so I’ll be able to share all of this with everyone here, step by step. They will insure the Asscher Cut diamonds, in case of loss, damage, etc.
The numbers will be crunched, and I should get a quote by Monday. I will be purchasing an additional 14 1-2 pt diamonds, including the cost of the metal, the engraving, millgrain detail work, CAD’s, and all the other extras, so I’m bracing myself for this quote...lol!
I have no set timeframe, which is to my advantage, as I have plenty of time to put the funds together to set this baby in motion.
Very excited about this project! I’m still thinking of names for it. The sentimental significance behind its creation is pushing me to give it a name that stands out. Perhaps, after it’s finished, it will come to me.
Thank you for all of the support and shared excitement during this process. I have read “threads of dread” during projects such as this, and, thus far, everyone has made this enjoyable! I’m certain things will get rocky, once the production phase starts!
I’ll update, again, once I get the quote!!
:mrgreen2:

I'll say it again!...Nobody on earth can cut Asschers like Yoram !

Super exited for you :appl: Can’t wait to see when it’s done!!!!:kiss2:

Ok, ladies & gents,
I got my quote. I’m more than pleased with it, and it’s within reasonable range, barring any unforeseen financial obligations that may arise.
The funds should be within grasp, by this time, next year (or sooner), after our tax return is received. If I can make it happen, this year, I most certainly will, but I imagine I’ll be pretty tied up, financially, between my College Freshman, holidays, and 5 out of 6 kids’ upcoming birthdays...lol! :lol-2:

I’m just thrilled that this project is within reasonable reach, and I can relax & continue putting money aside for it!
Thank you all, again, for your patience & excited anticipation of my Anniversary Band! This is already an exciting experience, but sharing it, here, with all of you, makes it even more exciting!!
The moment I set this wheel in motion, I’ll be back on this thread with details! :mrgreen2:
Now, the hard part: waiting...lol!

So exciting!!!
Good luck with all the activity and waiting- it is nice to have a plan and a goal!
We are sending our oldest off to college this year :cry2: I can't even deal with how much I'm going to miss her. Bling helps, lol.

You have company in those tears! My oldest leaves for college, this Fall, too. His HS graduation was this past Saturday. It doesn’t feel real. I’m dreading moving day!
You’re right! Bling is a great distraction...lol!!
Sending hugs to you!! Moms have to stick together! :mrgreen2:

Good to hear that you can hopefully progress things this year! :)

Just to ask, you've checked that the jeweller fully insures the stones while they have them and are setting them??

Yes! Fully! :mrgreen2:

:DIt's really starting to take shape Matthews!!!!

Awesome! :))

They look incredible, even in direct sunlight, the arch-enemy of diamonds!

So much fire!! :D

I can't wait until you have got that ring on your finger and are out at a restaurant with spotlighting - your husband will have to remind you to eat ;-) LoL

Oh, darling, you’re not kidding...lol!! I took this video so that you could see how they perform IRL (couldn’t get the video to load, before). I know you are curious as to how these little guys perform, so I thought this may help you determine what will work for you.

Thank you for thinking of me! (And for posting a nice long video :D lol)

I really like how they don't really have any 'dead' angles - you know, they don't really go dark at all, unlike some ECs that are 'all-off' at some angles. They are so visually interesting!

I know the waiting is annoying but all good things come to those who wait ;) and we can't wait to see the completed ring either :)

In the meantime, keep on hunching over them saying 'my precioussssss' as much as you can ;)) LoL

OMG! That would be great to get one in the future. Something to look forward to ;)2

The possibilities are endless!! There’s always something to look forward to, and new bling goals to work toward!!! ;)2

OMG so exciting!:appl: Looking gorgeous and cannot wait to see the final bling.:kiss2:

This is the hard part, @missy...waiting...lol! While I’m waiting, I’m playing!! I really enjoy these little guys. Honestly, the way they’re cut, they look larger to me. At 0.25 a piece, they just look bigger. I think it must be the 3D effect of the cut, and the Kozibe effect may contribute to that illusion, as well. All I know is they pack some serious rainbow flash power...lol!! :mrgreen2:

Okay.. i will admit it.. my heart dropped a bit at "a year.."...
How will you be able to STAND it!!! It's going to be amazing. I know it.
