I contacted a trusted IG Seller (sincity finds) to ask about selling or consigning this bracelet that I inquired about in the other thread yesterday. She recommended listing on ebay for $4800 and not taking an offer below $3640 (the gold worth). Here is the ebay listing. I will definitely take offers from PS members if anyone is interested in this type of bracelet.

It weighs 56 grams and is 7.5 x 1.0 inches.

Loupe listing:

Hi,
As a long time eBayer (20 plus years) it is very difficult to sell high value items when you have low or no feedback. You also need to be aware of scammers, rare, but they are out there.
Ditto using Loupe Troop which has no fees to sell but can attract unscrupulous people unfortunately.
To thwart any potential nefarious activity you would need to send the item insured and signed for, tracked delivery. And be aware that around Christmas time “porch pirates” are rife so your buyer needs a secure delivery address and signed acceptance of parcel. Without that, don’t sell / send. You also weigh and photograph your parcel prior to shipping. Parcel needs double boxing and taped securely so it cant be easily and slyly opened and the contents removed.
I would instead recommend using one of the established eBay sellers ie Dover Jewelry or SFL Maven to sell on your behalf. Spend some time on eBay to see if there are anymore established eBay sellers who sell on consignment near you. I don’t know what their fees are, eBay fees are around 12% for sellers so their fee would be on top of that.
All the best.

Sorry, I forgot to say
You need to add photos where the bracelet is on a set of scales showing weight and another photo of it on a wrist. Photos showing width and length measurements also help.
Here’s what I mean.

Thank you for your feedback Bron! I will add the measurements and scale photos. Thank you for the shipping suggestions as well.

If you would accept 3600 minus eBay fees (which are 15% for jewelry and that 15% is also 15% of the tax) then it may be easier just to take it to a pawn place or a local jeweler
Bc they might pay the same.

True. I didn't even think about that. Thank you for the suggestion.

Great.
People like to see it on because then they can imagine it on their wrist.

Avoid Pawnbrokers, they will give you the worst price.
Try a Gold Buyer, usually for wearable jewelry they pay over melt value.
You need to google gold buyers near you and see who is offering the most. This amount will vary day to day because it’s based on the live gold price.
And no, you can’t use the live gold price yourself as a valuation because you aren’t in that market.
If you have a quality jewellery or Antique / Vintage jeweller nearby see what they will offer you. Again, they should offer above melt for wearable jewelry, that’s why you need to know, on the day, what 18kt gold is worth to judge whether it’s a fair offer or not.
Oh, and on your ebay listing I’d change it to “18kt YG French Hallmarked Bracelet Bangle - 55 grams”
In your description
Magnificent 18ct Yellow Gold Bracelet, with full French Hallmarks comprising of interlocked links creating a bangle like presence on the wrist.
Significant weight of 55 grams.
Bracelet length is 7.5 inches, width is 1inch.
Could be resized smaller by your jeweller if needed.
Excellent pre loved condition, no flaws.
Secure pin type clasp.
Please view all the photos and read description prior to purchase as I’m not accepting returns for change of mind etc etc.
Will be shipped insured and signed for delivery. Please contact me so I can obtain a quote for you (or here you might say that insured signed for shipping is included in the buy it now price - your choice of course, some buyers just find that arrangement more palatable).

Personally I don’t put in words alluding to a “deceased state” or “inheritance” as this can put some people off, instead I say something like “downsizing my personal collection”.

Thank you so much for your detailed help. I appreciate it. It is harder when you do not know a lot about this type of item. When I sell my own pieces it is usually much easier. I am going to change the listing with your recommendations!

@Bron357 I have gotten close to melt with pawnbrokers and since OP said she would accept 3600 on EBay, which would net about 3000, I think she might get that at a local place. I would hope that OP could go to a local antique shop and get more! That’s certainly what I would try to do :)

Your description is perfect :) Definitely important to add the hallmarks ;)

I would take a zoomed pic of those pretty eagle heads.

I forgot about pawn/antique places that sell wearable jewelry. It’s totally worth taking time to visit some near you. I have a store near me that buys scrap gold but also sells vintage/antique jewelry. They will buy and resell things like your bracelet and they pay over scrap value for that. If you don’t find a private buyer that’s an option!

Beautiful piece indeed!
Yes ebay is a good alternative for this sale. Yes, you will have to pay their fees and taxes etc. But you also have their seller protection. They are basically your escrow agent.
I saw it already has Authenticity Guarantee so that is great.
Just make sure you follow the shipping suggestions you have gotten on here even if Ebay lets you ship for less.

You will probably get some scammers trying to sell you off ebay or below your price. But just stay on plattform and you will be fine.

Good luck with the sale!

HI:

I sell at a B & M who has a huge Estate inventory. Top prices paid.

cheers--Sharon

For higher priced items, I have had good experiences shipping to a Fedex store. The buyer has to go to their local store and show an ID to claim the shipment.
