Where in Canada are you in? Would you consider shipping within Canada??

Unfortunately, I can't. There is no service in Canada that offers insurance the way USPS does in the US.

Hi @Demelza - is the price CAD? I'm a fellow Canadian located in Ontario. Asking for future reference.

I hope a PSer gets this ring now that it’s available again!

Alex Park told me he is having a hard time finding well-cut OECs above two carats. He said I would make a profit on mine if I sold it back to him (3.39 ct) . You may want to reach out to him @parksfinegroupinc on Instagram.

Wow, thank you! I will send him a message now!

I am bumping this old thread because over a year ago I wanted to buy this ring and it had sold that very day; I have since bought another but I see that the one I wanted to buy is available again but on Grace's website. I think Demelza's photos are so much prettier but anyway if anyone is in the market this ring looks fabulous!

Up for sale is a gorgeous 2.47 ct OEC. It is GIA certified K, VS1. The stone measures 8.82-8.89 x 5.28. It has a beautiful blocky facet pattern with sharp contrast zones and great light play. It is set in a 6-prong vintage platinum mounting with 3 chunky oec melee along each shoulder. Size 6 and fully sizable. Retail on the stone alone is $20,000. I am selling for $14,999. Please let me know if you have any questions! https://loupetroop.com/listings/rings/2-dot-47-ct-oec-k-vs1-in-vintage-platinum-setting

How do I reach out to you to discuss purchase?

@Wendylynne it’s not my ring sorry if I was unclear. I was saying that a long time ago I TRIED to buy it from Demelza but she had sold it just a few hours prior to someone else. And so I found it ironic that I see it on Jewels by Grace’s site which means that the person who purchased it is now is selling it through Grace. So if you’re interested just go to that website!

Stunning if I didn't already have something in the works

Hi @Demelza! Hope all is well! I tried on your ring at JAWS in New York this past weekend and am interested! I was under the impression that you sold it over a year ago and the buyer decided to consign with Grace shortly afterwards but Grace said it was being sold by the original owner. If you are still selling your ring, I would love to buy it from you directly if possible! I also sent you a message on Loupe Troop if you would prefer to discuss details there. Hope to hear back from you!

i don't mean to be a snoop or debbie downer but it's a little weird to benefit from the services of the vendor who the ring is consigned to, and try to buy it out from under them to circumvent fees. you benefitted from their customer service at JAWS, which is the kind of thing that those fees are for

it is obviously not my ring or decision, it just struck me...

Plus there's a contract so fees would need to be paid either way.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts - I saw this listing on PS awhile back but like others, thought that Demelza sold the ring privately and it was the buyer who was selling with Grace. Whereas Demelza's private listing was closer to my budget, the price with Grace's high fees included is unfortunately not, so I have asked the mods to remove my purchase inquiry because I don't want to rub anyone else the wrong way and am happy to respect the consignment with Grace.

I have never bought or sold via consignment but I now understand there are contracts in place and once a seller decides to consign, the item should be purchased through the 3rd party. I will say I do feel like I'm being called out because I just happened to check out Grace's booth and this ring at JAWS when I'm just a diamond/jewelry newbie and made an honest mistake! Not trying to argue or start anything - just stating how I feel and trying to say this is still a learning process for me!

It's all good! I didn't mean to put you on blast, but I was surprised to see your inquiry after you shared photos and comments about your positive experience at Grace's booth. Grace is providing a service when someone consigns their ring, which includes things like bringing the ring to an event (and insuring it), taking professional photos, marketing campaigns, and handling the sale itself (so it is safer for all parties involved).

Generally, I'd recommend that you not underestimate the risks involved with a private transaction, even if it is someone respected on the forum (and you were lucky to see it IRL)...there are more things that can go wrong, especially if this is your first big purchase and you're still figuring things out. Personally, I'd go w/ a vendor over a private sale for an e-ring unless you feel super confident in the purchase but that is simply my opinion.

I know it's a little complex to navigate some of these things at first. If you need help finding a ring in budget, I am sure people on the forum would be happy to help you hunt if you create a thread.

And if this is the ring for you, I hope it works out! It's a beauty and it's a fair price, even on consignment.

FWIW, if buyer and seller can agree to a price, seller can go to Grace and talk about an end of contract fee. If this was on consignment for over 2 years, her terms actually address that and it's a nominal fee if she hasn't sold it by then.

From her site: While our experience is that most pieces sell within 6-8 months, some pieces may take longer than that. If we are not able to sell your item after 18 months, you may choose to cancel the agreement by simply paying the end-of-term fee of $250/item. Return shipping costs will be added to this.

If she did assist in selling the item for visibility and it sounds like she did, it's up to the seller and Grace to determine what is fair. Technically, after 18 months seller is allowed to take it back, no questions asked for the stated end of term fee. That's a judgment call on what to do between seller and Grace after 2 years (my assumption, due to the original post date).

Even if it's not been the full time length, but a lengthy consignment, perhaps Grace and owner can come to a deal that works for all and fits the intended purchaser's budget.
