2021 Pearl wishlist?

Before I put up my sticky notes to not buy pearls I asked myself "what is the last pearl necklace you need to complete your collection? The absolute last one that will keep you content in not buying pearls for at least a whole year?"

From someone who banned herself from another pearl forum last year (due to too many rogue purchases), and is about to ban herself from this forum... I do not believe there is a “last pearl necklace” to keep one content for X time.

I think this is the most beautiful bracelet I have ever seen. Okay, maybe I am being dramatic...but WOW I am smitten with this Kamoka piece....please no one buy it in case I find a spare 1k

That gold flower clasp though! I love how feminine and beautiful this piece is. The lack of symmetry is especially appealing because every pearl stands apart.

Exactly! Ugh I may be lusting for a bit longer - it’s also 7.5inches, and I suspect I need 8 but am not sure how bracelet sizing works!

So Pierce was the first actor that looked true to the books to me

Ombré update, I didn’t quite like either of the 2 prior options but I think we have a winner here. Top/gem grade 10+mm akoya that graduate to 11.6mm Tahitians. Want to guess where the Tahitians end and akoya start?

My guess is Akoyas for the first 6 pearls from clasp (on either side).

Close! It’s actually akoya for the first 10 from the clasp on either side. So the necklace is 19
Tahitians and 20 akoya with the akoyas being a range of white to nature gray!

I really love this ombré strand! Gorgeous but not too flashy. a perfectly balanced timeless and classic piece.

Hoping it’s a lot more budget friendly than the one at Mikimoto’s.

Thanks! I’m quite excited about it. Haha and yes it is a lot more budget friendly despite utilizing some top tier pearls. Apparently top grade akoya in 10mm sizes are rare to come by currently due to recent mass oyster deaths in Japan.

But then I saw a pic of the ombré mikimoto and got obsessed. The one I liked most was the “Avenir” but it is both not longer in production and way out of my budget.

I think the one the vendor put together is pretty close though!

I’m excited to see the ombré necklace. It looks beautiful! I have one on my ultimate wish list along with a rainbow rope and Tahitian harvest strand. This year I’d like to get Sea of Cortez dangle earrings that work with my blue baroque Akoya necklace. I don’t have any earrings that I love with it right now. I’m considering having front/back studs made. I have a faux pair I’ve been wearing but think I’d like something more petite (6 mm/12 mm range).

My biggest goal is to learn to string. I have one necklace in desperate need and a few I’d like to rework. I‘m toying with the idea of making a Y necklace and earrings with some peachy/pink metallic pearls I bought but I may settle on something else.

@yssie I waffle between 16 inches and 36 inches. I love love love the look of the longer strands but I think I might get more use out of a choker length. The strands with more variance are a feast for the eyes! I plan on going that route when the day comes.

@MMtwo I love Kamoka everything. Lol. They do have some of the most beautiful harvest strands.
