Not that it would affect your decision at all ... but have you seen the legendary Sarah Jessica Parker photos of her giant diamond earrings exactly like that?

To my eye they're so much more interesting & stylish & flattering than regular old honkin studs. Also influenced by the time Issac Mizrahi told me that earring *movement* around the face makes everyone look younger. The type of settings you have now offer a bit more movement and opportunity for sparkle than clamped on studs would.

I think you should wear them like that for a solid year & if you *still* want to reset them - go for it.

I'd never turn these into studs. They're stunning as they are!

Absolutely the best old settings I have EVER seen! I LOVE them exactly as they are, and ditto to all who said the above!

Truly, your ring and these earrings are right up there with my very favorites!!!

But I agree with deco. Wear them for a while and see how you feel. After some time if you still want to reset into studs then go for it but my guess is you will fall in love with them as they are- perfection magnified!!!!! Wear in happiness and health!!

Just one more thought...that size diamond just works in those settings. Smaller stones wouldn't work nearly as well and would work better as studs. But if I could have the choice, I'd take these any day because they are still simple and elegant but not just like what everyone else wears!

I absolutely love the settings they are currently in. My full vote on that one. I agree to give the current settings a test run for a couple of months.

I am sooooooo glad you got these!! They were perfect for your ears! All you had to do was see how they were so NOT perfect on my fat earlobes. I couldn't even fit mine in them. But on you???? :::::swoon:::::

They are **incredible**

I like them on you just the way they are!! They're unique, gigantic, and absolutely elegant and they'll be able to catch the light better with the movement the dangle permits. I can't do dangles, one ear faces ever so slightly more forward than the other and I'm self-conscious about it, but lucky you don't seem to have those problems

I love studs, as do many here, but IMO, they suit the stones as the lve back drops and even more, they really seem to suit YOU! Such unique stones seem to showcase better in a more unique setting and I'd vote for leaving them as is. But.... They are yours so do what brings you the mast happiness

They seem to be prong set, right? I wonder if a very good jeweler could take them out carefully, without damaging the settings, and re-set into studs for you. If you decide to go back to danglies, re-set them in the original settings?

That said, I'd keep them as they are. They are so pretty and feminine as danglies.

YES!! That would be a great idea if my fat earlobes would even fit in these earrings. As was proven when I tried them on.. I would be more than happy to timeshare my ring, but only after I put a tracking device on it!

Girl those things are REDONK! As in, huge and fabulous and amazing! I adore them and the mounts are so elegant. I think for such large stones a dangle like that is much nicer and more unique and interesting.

Oh my goodness. If I had your ring and these earrings I honestly think I could never acquire another piece of jewelry and I would be completely satisfied. What an incredible collection!

I also adore their current setting. But, if you choose to get them reset, perhaps you could ask one of the precision lapidaries to custom cut a colored stone for them. I bet blue zircons would be dazzling. Or pale pink sapphires. Or faceted welo opal (would be so cool to see those move in the dangles)...
