3 prong vs. 4 prong setting for Etenity Band

Hello All,
I went to a local jeweler were they had both a 3 prong and a 4 prong setting for a 1 ct tw diamond eternity band. The 3 prong looked nicer than the 4 prong, however, is a 3 prong safe enough for the diamonds? What is a better eternity diamond ring, 3 or 4 prong setting?

well considering that many people end up with shared prong which is to me, techincally 2 prongs...i think 3 prong or 4 prong should be just fine in terms of safety, assuming the worksmanship is good. so i think you''d be okay to go with 3 prong if you like the visual better.
