I can't believe I am saying this, but my beautiful 4ct Lab diamond solitaire is too big! Crazy I know! I had purchased an IGI graded lab diamond that was G VS1, 4.42cts. I had Ashley do the recut. He did a fabulous job! I love the cut, but I have worn it a handle of times and it is too big for me. My natural emerald cut engagement ring is a 4 carat, I know fancy shapes I seem to be able to wear in larger carat weights so I thought I would be fine with this stone. Anyway, I'm just not and I've tried to get comfortable with it, I just can't.
So I am moving on to a 3 carat. So let me get you the details about this gorgeous ring!
4.01 G VS1. It is a HPHT Lab diamond. I don't have a new IGI cert for it, I do have the old one and the report from Ashley for the buyer. It's like watching fireworks, this lab diamond has so much fire! It's hard not to stare, all the time!!! Ashley is a master at recuts and I wouldn't hesitate to have him recut a stone for me again!
I purchased the stone at Loose Grown Diamonds earlier this year. It was 4.42ct and I paid 2,317.50 which I felt was a good price for an almost 4.5 carat stone.
I sent it off to Ashley at Southwest Diamond Cutters. He was able to do the recut and keep it at 4.01ct. My cost for the recut was 2,970. I was willing to pay that
because I had seen Kim N's spectacular stone recut by Ashley and I wanted one as close to hers as I could get
I am selling the ring as a whole. The only way I will veer off from this is if the stone sells, I will decide if I am going to keep the setting or not. I will not sell the setting unless the stone sells first, if at all. That is firm.
The talented David Klass made the setting. It is platinum. Size 7.25. It weighs 7.6 grams, I Love the heft! The width of the shank is 2.80 and the depth is 2.20. It has an 8 prong head and truly does look like an ice skating ring the prongs are so tiny. I Love this setting!!! I paid 1,450.00 for the setting.
My total cost for the ring was 6,737.50. I have worn the ring 5 times. It might have some light scratches, but nothing a jeweler couldn't polish out. I'm asking 4,700.
I do have a beautiful eternity band of natural diamonds that DK made. I am still deciding if I will list that too.
Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for looking!
Loupetroop listing coming shortly!
