Absolutely stunning, congratulations!
Just a thought….do you have another ring that is the perfect fit that your husband can take with him to NY for sizing?
The workmanship is flawless!! And oh my goodness, your husband most certainly preempted any DSS with this piece - I don’t think there would be any finger left for a larger stone
You and your hubby have been together for such a long time. I hope you have many many happy and healthy years to look forward to @allycat0303
For your ring - please consider stacking with other bands before altering anything! Other bands will tighten it up for winter, and then you can see how you feel in summer when everything will fit a little more tightly
What a deal. Like six bucks off Amazon and your rings stays with you. It’s worth a try. I used it and never ended up resizing my ring which is about .25-.5 too bag for me. Cheap, fast and allows flexibility. When you get older your knuckles will change and you will gain weight (well, most do)….

HI:
Outstanding ring!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love the FDL design!! Congrats.
cheers--Sharon
I bought it with me and tied it to my scrubs lol
I’ve been thinking about..actually worrying a little bit too..about how to keep your ring safe during surgeries. A metal chain around your neck would scratch the diamonds in the band and also the metal. I like the idea of tying it to your scrubs with a double knot.... Or..You can tie your ring with a ribbon to a chain around your neck..also a double knot... I would make it long enough that you would have it hit your bra to tuck it in a little. I wouldn’t want you to lose that gorgeous ring.
I agree. I think ribbon around neck is much safer. I think the problem with tying to the scrub is that when you go to the restroom, you (or at least I will) tend to forget the ring is there and then undo your knot and voila it will be gone by the time you remember about it. Although with your FIVE CARAT, lol, I'm sure you'll hear a clunk sound somewhere.
I did want to share this (I asked for permission). Right before my husband presented me with the ring, he took me to a rustic diner for breakfast (to throw me off the trail). I snapped a picture of him laughing at me. He just told me “you’ll never find the ring, I put it in a place you can’t get to”. I thought he looked so self satisfied and pleased with himself.
Embarrassed to admit he was actually right. I never would have found it. Thank you all for letting me share
Shock! NO!
A colleague of mine lost her engagement ring like that. Scrubbed into surgery and the next thing you know, it was gone!!!

OMG..I didn’t think of using the bathroom!
Your ring is just stunning. I saw your profile picture and got a blast from the past. I remember following your med school journey WAY back in the OG PS days!!
Thank you!Handsome dude! With good taste in jewelry! You guys seem like a lovely match
ThabksWow-stunning!! congrats!!!
The interesting thing about the stone (and remember I never saw one before) isn’t as much the face up size… it’s the bulk of the stone. Does that make sense?I absolutely adore this setting, so I think it would be nice to enjoy it for a while to see if it grows on you size-wise. Also, if you love this stone but just find the look too big in the long run, would you consider a solitaire for your next setting? The diamond will still have a big look but not quite as big as it looks in the halo.

So I love how it looks on hand pics, but you don’t get a sense of how chunky it is in real life. That’s the part that bothers me. It does not look “real” to me, because of that, more “candy pop”.
I get it as I tried some diamonds in real life and thought 4 ct is probably the max I can take and I have big man hands/finger (size 7.75). I also wear HUGE colored stone rings but somehow for round diamonds they cannot be too big BUT… emerald cut diamonds are fine when they are the same carat weight? I feel like it’s the height of the stone that bothers me as an emerald cut diamond the same carat weight doesn’t seem too OTT the way a round does (plus slightly smaller face up as well).
Yes! That’s exactly what I’m talking about. I think with a different shape it would be ok.
My husband decided to go with 5 carat though. It was not even on my radar at the start of this. It was 3.5 max. I never dreamed of bigger.
Yes. My original engagement ring. However, it is supposed to be the same size. Leon still had my original specs on file.
The issue is I always wore my engagement ring too loose. If I shake my hand, it comes off.
For some reason, the thinner band on this new ring and the top heavy stone makes it come off my finger. So my husband will bring the original engagement ring. The new one with snuggies. And then measure the ring with snuggies, get an idea what the original is… and Leon and him will decide.
My gut is that it needs to come down 0.25 which is the max Leon can do. If it’s still too big I’ll put snuggies in as well. I think the trick will be to avoid making it “too small”
Lol. You guys are funny. I have to admit that a VCA bracelet was lost tied to scrub pants. I was heartbroken. But it was a long time ago… before I perfected the tying method…
It’s a triple knot around only one tie, not both. As long as I don’t forget to take it off.
