I''ve done numerous forum searches for the answer to this question, but haven''t been able to find one. If you know of a link, please feel free to send me that direction!

This forum has taught me that we can get a MUCH better deal on our e-ring by purchasing the diamond online. I''ve also noticed that you can also get a great deal on settings online as well. As this is the route that many of you go, I''m wondering about 6-month inspections. Where do you take them? Most B&Ms offer free ones if you purchase your ring there, but what about when you purchase online (and live nowhere near that online company''s physical store)? Do B&Ms charge for inspections if you DON''T purchase your ring at their store? I''m very interested in this because I really love pave and know how important it is to get these inspected very regularly. TIA!

Honestly, unless you have a lot of pave, it isn't a big deal. But that being said, yes my local jeweler is happy to check out my jewelry for me when I bring it in free of charge. But I also do make purchases there as well. My jeweler is still happy to check out my wedding ring which is completely pave.

Well, I''ve never purchased fine jewelry before, and likely won''t for quite some time after our rings, but that''s good to know. Thanks! I know most stores will clean your rings for free, but I was wondering about actually inspections...you know, when they have to actually do some WORK checking it, as opposed to the simple process of merely cleaning. lol Thank you!

, B&M stores frequently have "jewelry inspection" events. You can go in and have your rings checked by some professional guy. I think that is their chance to upsell you on something, so they offer "free" services. I have never taken advantage of one, so I am not sure if it is a good idea or not.
