Is there a discernable color differnce between 900 and 950 platinum? Thanks for any info.
 
The short answer is no.

The common pt alloys are quite grouped together as you can see below (triangles). You can read more about the patina platinum takes on as it's worn in the article linked above. Of course it can be repolished almost without limit to restore its original whiteness and shine.

Oh, and the patina is one of the reasons I chose platinum for my engagement and wedding rings. I actually couldn't wait until the shine "wore off." Maybe that makes me weird?!?!
