It’s Wednesday! And I bet the UPS guy rarely gets greeted with a smile as big as mine! I practically ran down the sidewalk as soon as I saw the truck pull up. The ring is super sparkly and prettier in person than I imagined! The whole thing took about 3 months. Having the French cuts is a real test of patience since those settings take longer. DK also had to go back and add milgrain and micropave to the gallery, which added 2 weeks but it was all worth the wait!
Here are 3 pics so far: 1. Sunlight. 2. Blah office light. 3)shaded indoor light
Will try to take more pics later today! Back to “work” while I stare at my fingers
Wow! That glow in your last pics. You have made some great choices with this ring. How do you evaluate the frenchies?
Any chance of seeing your beauty from an arm length...just dreamy!
@mpc , mind sharing you experience with DK on sourcing the french cut diamonds for your fab. ring?
Did it take long for him to find them?
Did you get to see the diamonds before deciding...etc.
I am considering doing a project but have no idea about the process.
TIA
Thanks @suzanne2 ! Honestly few people have said anything to me about the ring in real life. I did have one unexpected compliment from a male coworker (of all people), who didn’t actually know anything about jewelry other than “that looks like a nice blue sapphire” because perhaps he was interested in getting something for his wife. After I went on for about a few minutes about sourcing the stone and designing a setting I could see his eyes glazing over. That’s why PS is so great! People to share/enjoy your jewelry with !!I must chime in! Your sapphire is stunning and the hand shot from a distance is the best pic yet! Do you get a bunch of compliments in real life? Wow, it's amazing.

The French cut diamonds are actually custom cut. So that adds quite a bit to the production time.I had actually worked on anotherFrench cut ring with DK to have a ruby ring made for my mom. So I knew that this would take longer than most of his other projects (he can be amazingly fast). DK quoted 45 to 60 days for completion of this ring and ended up taking the whole 60.
I didn’t see the diamonds beforehand but have seen many examples of other similar rings he has made so I knew I wouldn’t be disappointed.
hope that helps!! Let me know if you have other questions! Can’t wait to hear about your project!!
