It’s Wednesday! And I bet the UPS guy rarely gets greeted with a smile as big as mine! I practically ran down the sidewalk as soon as I saw the truck pull up. The ring is super sparkly and prettier in person than I imagined! The whole thing took about 3 months. Having the French cuts is a real test of patience since those settings take longer. DK also had to go back and add milgrain and micropave to the gallery, which added 2 weeks but it was all worth the wait!

Here are 3 pics so far: 1. Sunlight. 2. Blah office light. 3)shaded indoor light

Will try to take more pics later today! Back to “work” while I stare at my fingers

It's even better than I thought it would be! Amazing job - patience really won out :)

It is beautiful, such a gorgeous colour of blue and the extra details on the setting are stunning.

The sapphire looks even bigger in such timeless and elegant setting!

Your new ring seriously reminds me of those from the Harry Winston window...the sapphire still shows blue from a distance! Please show us more pictures.

Thank you @Rad_Fan! I’m flattered! I was lucky enough to catch some photos in the sun while riding in the car the other day. Enjoy! Will see if I can get some more pics in the direct sunlight too.

Wow! That glow in your last pics. You have made some great choices with this ring. How do you evaluate the frenchies?

Thanks!! I love the frenchies and have always wanted a ring with them. I think they work well with the stone because they both tend to hold their own in low lights.

Sure! Here’s a photo while my pups wonders what I’m doing

OMG...it has that emerald sheen effect which I did not see from your other pictures!

HI to your cutie pie too!

You did an incredible job with your ring. It’s just fantastic!

I don't know the exact detail of that center blue gem below but yours reminds me of it.

:halo:Thanks @Rad_Fan! I’m truly flattered to be considered anything similar to an IG post. I’ve continued to evaluate the ring and stone. For what it’s worth, I learned during the stone selection process that I wanted a stone that performed in nearly all light. To date it has not disappointed!

Your ring has all my favorite ingredients. Vibrant color, great size, cushion cut, sparkly and frenchies!

Sweet Lord that is a divine stone - what a GLOW!!!

Your sapphire truly loves the sun! There is no extinction, no darkness, only blue glow - the silk is just enough. Fantastic colour, of course. I hope it will be remembered & followed here.

Gorgeous! Such a perfect sapphire! I hope to have one like that someday!

@mpc , mind sharing you experience with DK on sourcing the french cut diamonds for your fab. ring?

Did it take long for him to find them?
Did you get to see the diamonds before deciding...etc.

I am considering doing a project but have no idea about the process.

TIA

I must chime in! Your sapphire is stunning and the hand shot from a distance is the best pic yet! Do you get a bunch of compliments in real life? Wow, it's amazing.

The French cut diamonds are actually custom cut. So that adds quite a bit to the production time.I had actually worked on anotherFrench cut ring with DK to have a ruby ring made for my mom. So I knew that this would take longer than most of his other projects (he can be amazingly fast). DK quoted 45 to 60 days for completion of this ring and ended up taking the whole 60.

I didn’t see the diamonds beforehand but have seen many examples of other similar rings he has made so I knew I wouldn’t be disappointed.

hope that helps!! Let me know if you have other questions! Can’t wait to hear about your project!!

Thanks @suzanne2 ! Honestly few people have said anything to me about the ring in real life. I did have one unexpected compliment from a male coworker (of all people), who didn’t actually know anything about jewelry other than “that looks like a nice blue sapphire” because perhaps he was interested in getting something for his wife. After I went on for about a few minutes about sourcing the stone and designing a setting I could see his eyes glazing over. That’s why PS is so great! People to share/enjoy your jewelry with :)!!

I found your story of him both funny and eye rolling. It's likely that he would buy a finished ring instead of "building" it.

Thanks. Did he ask for deposit up front like some vendors do?
