check your PM''s on the other forum tourmaline lover and see whats to be had..you know what I am talking about when it comes to paraiba..you are very opposed to using the term paraiba and prefer cuprian which I agree with and would definetly agree with in this case(this nigerian stone).

*scratches head* I don''t see it...? Oh wait, do I need to go to the website? Somebody link me to it!

As far as the nomenclature for copper bearing turquoise colored tourmalines from Nigera, Mozambique or the famed Brazilian sites, I think we could wrap this poor thread up in discussions about that. In the end, I think we just need to judge RFT''s stone on it''s own merits, and it is a beautiful gem with a vibrant blue green color with double open axis''. It is also cut really well, and that''s always a bonus when it comes to fine colored gems. I''m tremendously happy for her, and I hope she posts pics!!

As for your second statement about me, that is true, but I don''t talk about it on PS that much.

Ellen, LTP, kribbie, cushioncutnut, TravelingGal, LtlFirecracker, and simplysplendid. Thanks so much for your lovely comments. And a double thank you to those who defended my little stone. It didn''t mean to cause so much controversy.

RFT- I would not worry about the nomenclature too much (unless you enjoy that!) It''s an incredible stone; you are a lucky lady
