My BF and I went ring shopping this weekend for the first time...he wants to make sure that I LOVE the ring and just didn''t feel comfortable going out on his own. I had some ideas on settings (looking at Tacori too...and I love the second setting you posted). In person, the setting was everything I had imagined, and my BF agreed that none of the others we saw over the weekend compared to the Tacori. We also discussed the cut I want, as well as color, clarity and carat parameters. Looked at some stones today. But I think he is on the right path now, and I feel confident that he will choose a spectacular stone.

hi again!!! i just wanted to say thanks sooo much for all the great opinions and thoughts -- there really is quite a bit of diversity on this board, but the one thing we all seem to agree on is that both parties should be HAPPY (especially us hee hee) and should communicate clearly, and that this is a FUN problem to have :) Let''s enjoy every minute of the waiting... as much as we can :) hee hee I''ll do my best ;)

Thanks again. it was wonderful to read through your thoughts.

bring on 2008 and tonnes of great announcements!!! btw, for my tacori loving friends out there, i''ve discovered a new one that i now love... it''ll be a hard decision!

What do we think: Is it too much? Sorry to hijack the thread -- please let''s continue the discussion, it''s just that pictures are fun once and a while :) And i love your thoughts! :)

After reading Gluek's reply, I realize she's right! And that I'm a "setting" girl. This might be blasphemous to say but I really haven't given much thought to the diamond besides the shape. Ok, maybe a little about the carat

This is my second go round on marriage so I may have some different thoughts. My BF and I have talked about rings and I look at them (a lot!) online and at the jewelry stores. Recently I found a Scott Kay that I feel is "the ring". We went shopping the other day and he asked if I wanted to stop in the jewelry store- like I'm going to say no!!?? So, I showed it to him, he saw it on my finger, and actually asked the saleslady a few questions!

I guess it would be cool if he could have totally chosen it all on his own but the more I think about it, the more particular I get and knowing this is the last time I do this!! I want it to be perfect for me. Some people have mentioned that once they try a ring they realize it's not the style for them. I'd rather be sure of the ring and have it when he proposes! That part I'm leaving up to him

eta-- that setting you just posted is TDF!! I definitely vote for that one!

I completely agree!! Me too. Well, even if I hadn''t have inherited the stone :) I think settings are so unique and interesting, and I''m also interested at how my taste fluctuates between classic (i used to want a tiffany 6 prong) and modern (now I appear to want a halo :)

I think your plan sounds wonderful, ktdid -- having your input is helpful to him, and you deserve something you love. Can''t wait to hear more!! :)

Bye for now :)
