Hey Starsparkle!


Thanks! I am so excited that its pretty much numbed me to a bad Monday at work today! LOL. I sincerely hope he doesn''t hold onto it for too long either. I know originally he wanted to take me to Venice and propose there (yes, he''s a romantic alright) but right now our budget is so tight I know that the proposal will be local. Which has me playing ''Anticipaaaatttioooonnnn, anticiiiipppaaaaationn,'' over and over in my head all day!

Same here (minus the Venice part). My BF has had the ring for almost a month now, and I''m getting antsy! Supposedly he has already picked out the day and the manner in which he will propose, and I just have to wait.

I hope your guy doesn''t torture you the same way mine does, by telling me at least once a day how amazingly beautiful and sparkly "his" ring is.

LOL--"his ring" huh? Mine has said I can try it on BUT I have to keep my eyes closed!! Now that''s pretty torturous. I just want to see it on and in the ring box and...ok I want to see it everyday! So sue me. I''m hoping he''ll give in to my desperate pleas.

Has yours told you that it''ll be sometime soon at least? I haven''t a clue with mine.

He told me yesterday that he might be willing to let me try on the wedding band if I keep my eyes closed, but not the e-ring.

We agreed that he would give it to me by the end of April, so I guess at the most I only have another month left to wait.

Yeah, but I feel like I''ve been waiting forever for this. I am also going to be leaving the area for 5 months for job training in May, and I know he wants to do it before that.

I haven''t really started any planning yet, I''ve just been trying to get an idea of what venues are out there. We want a small wedding with no more than 30 guests, and it seems as if it would be easier to find a place for more guests because most places have a minimum of 50.

It seems that we have picked out a front-runner, though, so that''s exciting!

We haven''t actually been there yet, we''ve just checked it out online.

I''ve noticed it''s a fast moving time nowadays.
We''re planning to be engaged sometime in the next 5 months! If I didn''t have so many exams in the way, it''d probably be all I could think about!

I am really thinking I''ll be engaged in the next 4 months. We''ve been looking at settings and he knows exactly what I like, and I think he might have bought the diamond already, so it''s just a matter of purchasing the setting and getting it made. And let me tell you... I am so excited about this progress!!

Not exactly sure when ... He''s been pretty good about keeping his plans mum. He REALLY wants to surprise me. The ring has been finished since December.

I''m thinking maybe thinking maybe this weekend but don''t quote me on that.

We''re doing something fun and thought that it might be the perfect opportunity for him. Hmmpf! We''ll see.

I was right! He proposed this weekend.

I was looking at the Ladies in Waiting List-and WHOA it''s moving fast for the moment. So all this movement on the list prompted me to ask...

Who here thinks there is a very strong possibility that they will be engaged before 2009? Like 75% or more sure? heck, even less... Any deadlines?

Not me. I''d be shocked and amazed. Then again, I''ve been surprised by my BF before.

Thing is, I''m in the mode where I''m sitting and waiting. Right now, it''s more important to me to keep this relationship than it is to push for timelines. There is enough going on right now to where marriage is not in the forefront of my brain. But I have an internal timeline. I''m going to sit and think about things and see how things go until summertime. We''ve already had The Talk, and he knows exactly where my head is at. If things have still not moved forward (ie - construction begun on addition to house, other issues resolved) by summer, then I will probably walk. I don''t want to, but at my age, I don''t have forever to wait. Marriage isn''t the issue, per se. The issue is Getting One''s Poop Together and Moving Forward.

Just had a conversation - totally unexpected while waiting for coffee machine to fill my cup - with a guy I work with. He is getting married this summer. He''s been dating his GF for the same amount of time as I have my BF and he is around my age. He complemented me on a ring I am wearing and asked me, quite casually, if my BF and I had talked marriage (weird timing given this morning''s post!). I said, "We''ve talked about it, but no plans." He said, "I give you a lot of credit." And I said, "Why?" And he said, "Christie (his GF) told me after we''d dated a year that she didn''t intend on waiting more than 6 more months for a proposal. She''s our age. And I thought about it and realized, heck, I am not getting any younger and she''s got a point. So that kinda lit a fire under my @ss. I knew she wasn''t going to wait for me."

Hmmm. In my case - I hate to say this - but it''s probably going to take an "I''m Leaving Because I Can''t Wait Anymore" before my BF even starts thinking marriage. But as I said, I could be wrong. I''ve read him wrong before.
