I'm looking for an engagement ring for my girlfriend. Can someone please tell me if this is a good deal? Please note that my girlfriend is not obssessed with the diamond size so I wanted to get her a good quality ring which I would upgrade later on (I'm a doctor and in few years I will be getting a higher salary). Thank you in advance!

The price of this one is $2,244.00

Thanks! It's a platinum 6-prong setting. And I found it on sam's club online.

If you want to upgrade it later on, better to find one of the vendors here with a great trade in policy and very well cut stones. You want the most bang for the buck and a pretty ring for now to boot!

Not a good cut according to the HCA. Here is the tool to use to do an initial check on a stone.

(should look for stones that score 2 or under)

Your stone : Scoring 5.7
Light Return Good
Fire Fair
Scintillation Fair
Spread
or diameter for weight Very Good

How about this stone? A stunner for sure!

For the money you are thinking of spending, you can find a much larger stone with a great trade in policy.

If this is the stone I think it it, it's very close to eye-clean, but not quite, according to Bob. That little crystal at 2 oclock can be seen at 6 inches or less. It came very close to being the middle stone in the pendant in my avatar. I have no doubt it's beautiful anyway.

Hi Zoks-welcome! I would agree with the others that the stone you have selected is not a well cut stone, so it won't appear as sparkly as other diamonds. Not to say that it might not be beautiful, but unless you have seen it and compared it to ideals and prefer it, I wouldn't get it. If you are open to other options, here are some...I would look for a vendor with a great upgrade policy if you plan to upgrade in the future (all linked stones are upgradable)
