After a nice green jade cabochon

It looks somewhat like maw sit sit, which I don't like. But it's really what YOU like in the end.

I may be wrong, but I think jadeite mix of this texture and colour is softer than the standard semi translucent jadeite. We were examining a carving the other day and those with black bits break easily. Very green, opaque but had black bits.

Thanks @Burmesedaze

Aiii the drama continues! Haha sorry to drag you in every few days!

Take this strand for reference. I don't like the colours personally and I think it is way overpriced.
But you can compare this with the garish strand. This US$2K strand is more translucent and is from "older" jadeite than the garish strand. It takes a better polish too.

It's also carved from a single jadeite boulder that has variations in colours, because the texture is the same for the beads. It's also rather unique, though not an appealing colour to me. Looks rather old.

Just fly over to Yangon from Singapore. You can bunk in at my place. I'm moving to a 3BR serviced apartment from early May!

I wish I could!!!!! I was telling Hubs about it and he was all conspiracy theories ie

"How do you know it's a nice lady with gems and not some bloke living in a basement waiting to clobber you?"

Then I explained that you have met up with others and have been posting well before I resumed posting again.

Response: How do you know it's not 2 blokes colluding in the basement?

I'll work on him eventually!!!!!

Thanks for the explanation regarding the other strand. I was tempted by the price but there was something "rough" looking about it even though I liked the colour so I was determined to wait for you to pop online. At any rate I feel like I kinda have a wee bit more knowledge going to Singapore now.

Lol I am sick of how indecisive I am about these things! Then I'm all like "Am I being paranoid because I don't feel confident with jade or because I don't love the item very much."

I usually pull the trigger really fast without agonising over things!

I still really like the $588 strand from the other day. It's my ONE strand though so I'm wiffling waffling!

Haha thanks for being so patient! Sorry for the novel

Lol Yangon has soft soil conditions and constructing a basement entails more structural reinforcement works and costs, so the 2 blokes are not likely to work out of a basement, but probably on the top 7th floor of a local apartment that has NO LIFT.

I think you need to see and feel jadeite more before committing to a purchase. Not a matter of whether it's cheap or not. I didn't like jadeite until I came to Yangon and started handling and looking at them more, if that makes sense?

oh dear will your new place have a lift? Good exercise though without one! Although what does one do about groceries???

You know what worries me about jade. My green bracelet photographs A LOT greener than it is irl (by me of all people so it's not like I want to mislead on colour!). Don't get me wrong it's still pretty green but it's a really fresh green in every photo whereas in real life the colour is much more muted. I think it's really pretty irl but some of the pictures make it look heaps brighter! Which is why I'm paranoid that these pics are not as bright fresh green as they look onscreen.

Not the right colour and totally out of my budget but I thought this was very pretty!

Yes. I've been living in hotels and serviced apartments after my 1st year in a crap local condo. I can rant on for days about it.

Looks pinker than my jeweller's pink jade strands she bought. I might buy 1 more strand from her. The one I have is pink with no green. I'm after 1 with some green flecks.

@mellowyellowgirl more jadeite education for you.

These are from my friend's family. They co-share jade mines. These 56mm bangles were shown to her as she was looking for a gift for her sister in law that wanted green. Theseare between us1k-2k, family price.

I love it when you do this stuff for me!!!!

I would like the first bangle please!!!!!!!! Send it this way for Easter :cheeky:

Please come to Sydney so we can meet in public so I can prove to Hubs that you aren't a shady bloke!!??

Haha to be honest I'd probably just beg you to buy a necklace for me and bring it over so I can save myself the ongoing drama!

Haha I guessed she picked the first bangle and she did. Good choice and guess!

That is rather pretty!

I am starting to appreciate translucency after my latest stint with the bright green but opaque strand. Before as long as it was green I didn't care!

Those would be awesome just for novelty's sake!

My kind of water texture, high dome and light misty bluish green.

Except for the price...

I saw! Ask for white background and hand shots

Here is a handshot!

DO you think it has potential though for the price? I have plagued this lady too many times I'm worried she'll just stop answering me so I'm picking what I ask about!

The necklace I wore yesterday has 10mm beads. This green strand is slightly small but the texture is translucent (what they call glutinous icy Chinese) and doesn't appear to be cracky or with fractured lines. Old jade. Maybe even water jade that is mine out.

Colour is towards blue spectrum of green. While I'd like to see this just under $500 or else 10mm sized for $650, on balance it isn't too bad not a rip-off.

Ask for white paper background. No flash and with flash.

*in Chinese.

Do you think it would be a better buy than the $588 strand I posted which was brighter green but less translucent?

I am starting to rethink my love of tacky greens. My sister said this was more "classy"

@Burmesedaze Boo no pic with white background but she did send video in sunlight which they won't let me attach.

I do rather like it! It is not as fresh a green but I think it looks....hmm how do I say this without being insulting...less elderly asian lady iykwim. I am asian myself so it is extra bad if I deck myself out in REALLY asian stuff!

I prefer it to be 588 for sure!

Do you think I can hold out for a better one or just get this if I really like it. I do rather like it! I can see it going with more clothes than the $588 strand.

Darn you for influencing me on translucency!

Gahhh now I'm fretting it's too long! My calcs work it out to be 75cm long! Would that look weird???

She's going to take more pics for me tomorrow! Lol it's a miracle the woman hasn't smacked me!

So I'm just fretting about length now! Cuz 7 mm x 108 beads is quite long!

On another note $588 is sold!
