On the AGS report, it has a comment " The clarity of this diamond is based on clouds that are not shown" .
Sorry to ask, but what does it mean? where do clouds shown?

It means that the clarity grade given this diamond is SI2 based on the cloud(s) present, and that the grade was not given for other reasons. It also means that they did not plot this/these SI2-determining cloud(s) on the diamond diagram, in this case perhaps because it is extensive, or difficult to do without resulting in a very "messy" looking plot...it also saves grader/grading time.

Clouds may or may not be a problem. I returned an SI2 once because the cloud was obvious in sunlight, and it looked... well, cloudy. (And there was no fluorescence.) I noticed the cloud the most when I compared the stone to a crisp, clear diamond, which I had at the time because I was deciding between the 2 stones. (I kept the clear stone.)

If you''re concerned (because the cloud was the clarity-determining factor), I suggest you compare your diamond to a better clarity one at a local jeweler and see if there''s a difference.

Geez, if they''re going to base their clarity grade on it, you''d think at the least they''d show you where it is, or indicate it in narrative (oval shaped cloud covering one fifth of the stone in a bezel main area which appears very slightly hazy to the eye).

I have to agree with Richard. That diagram looks like a VS1. You don''t have a clue where the clouds are and whether the stone is even possible or not.

I was thinking that clouds must be pretty bad and obvious to set the grade at SI2, so I looked for the stone.

I don’t see any major obvious clouds the their pics.
Do you?

Nice stone, HCA = 1.4.

as described by Shel.

Ask for the stone to be compared to others in various lightings to other stones.

When clouds are the main grade maker they can reduce fire and brightness from SI1 down in my experiance.

Can

Not do

If in doubt - have it sent to Rich or any of the other apprasiers for an opinion.

the other mark looks like SI1 size to me from the scan - so the cloud may not be that bad.

DH, interesting question.
The diagram is helpful and I have to reiterate what a great resource this site is to help with ANY questions about jewelry, etc.

Thank you. I really appreciate your thoughts.
WF told me that it''s eye clean. When I saw a report, I thought that does the diamond have too many clouds to draw on diagram? Look at the picture, it''s very nice and clean. I''ve never thought that it''s SI2. But it has reason for SI2. Will too many small clouds make diamond looks cloudy? Look at the picture, do you think the stone looks cloudy?

Please read my post again.

Thank you Garry. I''ll ask WF about it.

Update:
I called WF and they told me that I no need to worry because this stone has excellent lighting return. Not cloudy looking at all.
I''m going to let them make a ring. I''ll post pics when I receive it.
PS is really great. I know that I''m in a good hand.
