Is there a difference in AGS and GIA color?
I heard that AGS is much more lenient and their I color can be similar to a GIA J color?
Is this why their is a price difference between AGS and GIA stones?

AGS stones typically cost more than GIA stones. AGS has ten cut grades; GIA only has five. The very best cut stones are sent to AGS so they can get the coveted AGS 000 cut grade.

AGS and GIA use the same color grades and they are both very reliable. An AGS I would be a GIA I. The exception might be a stone that is right on the line of I and J. In that case, two trips to GIA might also get you an I and a J. Of course out and out mistakes are always possible, but that would be rare.

Christina summed it up perfectly.
