Ahem. My Amelia Stone. Unheated Padparadscha from Richard Wise, take two!

Apparently the ring is ready, except for the engraving. I gave Leon little to practically no direction on this thing, so I'm interested to see it. I told him when this all started that basically my two criteria were his pointy prongs and that I love the swoopilicious curves of his rings. He said, "I know what you like, you will love it." Ha, if I didn't read so much about Leon over the years, I probably would not have found that as amusing as I did.

Spoke with him today and he said it turned out great. Of course, what's he going to say - it's hideous?

But he actually persisted a bit to say that the ring has struck a few girls in his office, that they really liked the ring when there are "all these other big rocks lying around."

I'm stilll laughing for now, but we'll see if I am when I see the ring!

ETA: and the lead time is still less than 4 weeks if it gets done early next week - not bad.

AJ, if I had any design sense like you, I would have been more specific.

But unfortunately my talents are in other areas. So I figure I''d let the designer do his thing.

Diamonds are her birthstone, so there are diamonds in the ring . The pad represents something unique, and of course, a girl.

But it CAME IN A BOX!!!!!!!!

(I''m working on it guys but today is a cloudy day. And I will never, ever be able to get this ring to come out decent in photos. Pads are bad enough, but this is a serious PITA.)

I will say that it is beautiful. I don''t think it will knock anyone''s socks off in the photos, especially because the style of ring has definitely been BTDT on PS. But for the stone, I could not think of a better, more wearable, DAINTY setting. It is like a ballerina ring. Perfect to represent my little girl. It almost looks ridiculous on my knarled, beat up, mother''s hands.

OK guys, I''ve taken the photos and louped the ring. And boy, this is interesting...I think a good lesson to check out if you''re going the custom route with a native cut stone. See you guys over on SMTR.

Looks like it’s not ready at SMTR yet. This is certainly going to be interesting because I have 2 “native cut” stones to set and wonder what issues I might encounter. They are well cut but one has a slightly uneven girdle and the other has facets that aren’t exact if you try to match up both sides.
