Nothing else there is a bargain, that's for sure. I think I have looked at that site every few years (prompted by some post here) and I swear the AGL reports are from the turn of the century and I don't think I have ever seen anything sell. It is also the only place where I have seen full-on AGL quality reports with all the misc. numbers. It almost feels like an abandoned "ghost ship" of e-commerce... :oops2:

I purchased a gorgeous unheated Burma ruby from Robert Genis at National Gemstone and highly recommend working with him.

As I said above, I am glad to know that I am wrong!

Gemstonesrock. Thanks for the kind words.

OK I admit I don't post here very much anymore. However, No ghosts at National Gemstone and the rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated. Mark Twain said something like that.

You can see the Gemstone Forecaster newsletter every quarter since 1995 here:

We also have a pretty current blog:

Yes, my AGL certs are old for a reason. Due to the issues with the Burmese Government and the Biden sanctions, these old AGL reports prove the stones have been in the US way before the current Burmese ban. Of course, if new clients want new grading reports, we send to AGL for updated reports and the buyer keeps both grading reports.

Hope this helps.

Robert

@clu3s: please come back and share the finished ring - looking forward to your work of art.

... with my price range it’s kind of hard to find anything amazing.

Same with me.
I also want one of the most desirable of all gems, with the best specs possible.

But since I can only do that by going down ::)in size, I buy and learn to use high end macro-photography gear.
Of course I'd rather buy a 6 ct Fancy Vivid Green or Blue IF Asscher-cut fully-natural diamond.
But since I can't, excellent photos of tiny dots of top color in a fine stone is a surprisingly-gratifying consolation prize.
If I can't be a Size-Queen, I'll be Color Queen / Size-Pauper.
The name of this forum isn't Size Forum, it's Colored Forum. :cheeky:

I wanting more than we can afford is true of most everyone on the planet - except HRH The Queen, and Elon Musk.
