OK so it seems like MANY of us LIWs are expecting an Aug/Sept/Oct proposal...so I thought I would start a new list!

I know I am missing a LOT of you LIWs so please let me know! this is going to be a very exciting month around LIW :) I can't wait...I love hearing all of your stories (and seeing ring pics of course!)

Me too! It was supposed to be any time after his cousin's wedding (which was this past Sunday) for us, but now he has to leave for a business trip this Sunday, and since it is so close to his hometown, he is going to visit his family afterward - so I guess it could be any time after he gets back (August 9th). :)

Well my ring will be ready in 3 weeks, but then we are moving a week later so August is out for me. I'm assuming it's going to happen in Sept then, so add me too :D.

On our anniversary, my BF suddenly said:

BF: You can't wear your ring to Hawaii. (we're going the last week of Aug)
ME: (thinking: omg... he's going to propose soon??!?!?!?!) why not? I want to wear it so people know we're engaged.
BF: You'll lose it.
ME: I won't!!! I want to wear it.
BF: Then I'll propose after our trip then.

If he proposes after our trip, for sure it will be in September!

Would you ladies wear it on your trip?

We're going back to HK to meet family and friends next year. He's ok with me wearing it there. What's the DIFFERENCE!?!?!?!
 
I never wear jewelry on island/tropical vacations. I always spend so much time swimming that I would be afraid it could slip off in the water. Also, you don't want your ring to get scratched up by the sand.

However, if I am traveling to NY or say Europe, I would still wear my jewelry since the activities I do there are more like my day-to-day life. I think that makes sense...

Me too! I think! I think at the latest it will be around christmas time....which is only 4-5 months away...but I'm hoping he does it this fall!

So I had to come in this post and look...but I refuse to put myself on it because I know I'll jinx myself!

I wish i could add myself to that list, BUT, i dont really think he would do it in that time frame.We got lots going on in August, my birthday,September we have a trip planned and football season starts, which is always HUGE for us, but I too dont want to jinx myself, but lots of ***********DUST***************** to the ladies on the list.

Beezy, I would wear it, but I'm not big on swimming/ocean things even though our Honeymoon will be in Hawaii. I don't imagine myself swimming/being in the water much so it's not too big a risk to me.

I don't plan to swim that much. We'll just walk on the beach and stuff. He's just scared I'll lose it, so he might just propose after our trip. :errrr:

also I would NOT wear a ring in the ocean, no matter how insured it is!

I think mine might come at the end of September or October. Quite possibly Halloween.

I grew up on the beach, so if I didn't wear my rign when I was on the beach, swimming, etc, I'd never get a chance to wear it : (
 
Ooh! Add me too please! At least I'm hoping it's soon! My birthday is 1 September and I'm pretty sure he'll propose before or on my birthday! Yay!

sorry! sometimes I miss one through all of these posts!!! (eta I think it it is because of the large SPACE in between...and scrolling). many apologies to kagordo!

kagordo would you honestly wear your ring in the ocean though?!?!??!? i can understand on the beach but in the ocean...I would be scared to death! do you wear other jewelry swimming?

I know Kenny wears his octavia in the pool but he has gloves to protect it :)

ETA and a pool is...well...a pool...with a bottom...and you can see things in it

When do you expect a proposal? Idk why but I'm not too familiar with your story/diamond etc if you can link me to some of it :)
 
hi dawn! BF and I picked out the ring together (it is a square cushion H&A with pear sidestones) and I know he has it in the apt! He is waiting to propose until AFTER I get back from camp (I am leaving Friday for ~2 wks to work at a summer camp in TX)...so it will be sometime after that, but not sure exactly when. It will definitely be BEFORE Oct 1st though, so somewhere in that general time frame.

here are the CADs from BGD...it is going to be like this except with V-prongs on the pears. I kept going back and forth on designs but I think this one will be really classic and beautiful but not something you see everyday!

Ooooh, SLG, I am loving the way that CAD looks! Can't wait to see the real pictures of it when you get it in your hot little hands!
 
thanks! gaah now that I look at it I see it has knife-edge...initially I had asked for NO knife-edge but I think when I saw the CAD I didn't really scrutinize it...now I am worried...but I think it will look great! I had such a hard time deciding on a design, there are SO many beautiful rings out there!
