Alright alright... I swore I wouldn't sign on tonight and I'd just go to bed but here I am! Thank you for all your compliments and everything, what a response!!!!!!
Weeeelll I kinda knew something was up this weekend when he made tons of plans for the whole weekend. We went to the zoo on Saturday morning and saw the pandas that we got a while back here in Memphis. I had been wanting to see them for a while, so we finally went. We stayed almost all day and then we went to go see the Memphis Tigers play (they're my favorite football team, I'm just a hometown girl I guess!).
Well we were pooped on Sunday but Shane insisted that we do just one more thing on Sunday night
So, we hitched a ride on the dinner cruise on the mighty Mississippi on Sunday night. It was very nice weather and the food was great. I just had a gut feeling that this was it..... So after dinner we headed up to the top tier of the Memphis Queen riverboat (it was a fairly big steamboat) and were looking out over the river at sunset... Suddenly, he sat down! I couldn't figure that out. So he said "Come sit with me". There was only one chair so I sat on his lap. It was very sweet
Then he started saying some very sweet things..... Then he said "Are you sure you wanna marry me?" and I said "Of course!". So he says "Will you marry me?" and I started bawling crying and saying yes yes yes!!!!! Here's the kicker---- he says, "I wish I brought the ring with me tonight!"
So I'm sitting there trying not to look TOO shocked/ upset/ pissed as hell.
And then he says, "Just Kidding honey, it's right here". So I had to get off his lap so he could get the ring out of his pocket! So he slides the ring on my finger and I immediately began admiring my hand and haven't stopped yet. Sometimes I see rainbows but with those EC's you really see flashes of light. And another funny thing is sometimes I'll be doing something random and I'll catch a glimpse of my ring and go, "Oh yeah- wow, look at my BLING!".
The families are excited, we're excited, and we are planning like mad! Thus, I need to go to bed
OH yeah and we still giggle everytime we say "fiance/fiancee"
