from the options i would probably go with the .72 D VS2

I picked a 58 table/36 crown diamond after looking at 15 options for an hour at my jeweler friend’s office in multiple lighting situations
I had a 59/59 and it did look flat from the side. It was sparkly and had more fire than expected. I ended up exchanging because of an inclusion. If you don’t care about the side view it might still be a good choice.
36.0 could be good or could be bad - can't tell without seeing it....
you might want to ask to see both in person and just vote with your eyes...
.72 should skew more brighter and face up larger ... the .70 would skew to more fire
That’s nice to hear about the fire. What size was your stone ? I think on a small stone like this (0.72) once set the side profile shouldn’t bother us too much, hopefully. Possibly something we’d notice more on larger stones ?
Also since my partner doesn’t really wear much jewelry (and so might like something practical) im thinking if the 59/60 sits lower than a narrower cut it could be fine for her. Don’t know if there’s any validity to that statement on sizes and percentages so small but it’s helping me justify the decision.
Overall the specs seem good I’m liking the 34.5 crown angle, 40.6 pav and I don’t think a 59 table is ridiculous for a < 1 carat stone
It was 1 carat. The flat didn’t bug me, it was the inclusion that had me returning the diamond.
