I should also mention that some of these items are in danger of being scrapped/sold to a jewelry store for who knows what purpose, and I think for some of them, that would be a great disservice!

To answer your question, I do not have any lab certifications. Spinels and garnets are typically not treated, and because of the low cost of the spinels, it does not make financial sense to get them evaluated, as a gem memo is $75. Also, I'll note that the spinels seen here are from Tan (white pear) recut by Jerry Newman and from Barry Bridgestock, both of which are reliable vendors. The smaller spinels are from my formerly local store in New Mexico, and have likely been sitting in their store since the 1970s. The tsavorite was cut by Gary Braun of Finewater Gems, another reliable source, and garnets are not treated.

I consider appraisals to be for insurance purposes only, and unless the person is well versed in colored stones, would really have no idea of the value of the stones. Nor do they have the equipment for things like determining origin or treatment. Typically appraisers work with diamonds, so they know those best.

As for the blue topaz, it is routinely irradiated to achieve that color, so there would be no lab report to obtain.
